Please help , my plex had been running wonderfully for years but since earlier in the month I can use it at home but not outside network. When I try to use quick connect it fails as not reachable and it also says it sees two routers when I only have a asus be96u . My plex is located in a synology nas , I reset the nas to factory and reloaded everything including plex using a token but same fault . Any ideas ? Thanks all.
- Don’t use QuickConnect for anything related to Plex remote access. That’s due to fail in almost all common use cases.
- Are you trying to access your server remotely from a mobile app? For those you’ll need a Plex Pass membership or the dedicated remote watch pass

Hi thanks for responding, I do have a plex pass I have tried following along on YouTube and instructions here to see what I’m missing but it’s not helping. I can’t use my app on iPhone to view my library when at home or out. but I can view it from My laptop when at home . Very frustrating , it worked fine for years .

Also when I go to verify the connection Inside syn it tests it and works for a split set then fails . I tried setting up the vpn connection I was able to add it for everything else but plex it still only recognizes quick connect . How do I change that to use the vpn connection instead ?
Synology model?
DSM version? 6/7/7.2+
Plex Media Server version? 1.41.5, 1.42.2, etc.
Did you install using Synology Package Center or using Docker?
What is the WAN IP displayed in the Asus router? Just the first two numbers. ex: 108.148.x.y,
In Plex Media Server Settings → Remote Access, what is the Public IP address? Again, just the first two numbers.
Please explain how things are connected. You mentioned the Asus router. What equipment do you have from your ISP (make/model if you can find it)? Where is the NAS connected, etc.
You mention having a Plex Pass. Is that with a different Plex account name? If so, did you use the Plex Pass account to claim the Plex server?
