I have been using Plex for TV, Movies, Music & Photos for years. I have photos going back to the early 2000s. My photos are organised in folder with the following format:
YYYY/YYYY-MM-mmm eg: 2021/2021-06-Jun. My photos are also named: 2021-06-09_10-18-29.JPG for example.
For some reason photo thumbnails are not being generated for some of the photos in 2021-05-May and 2021-06-Jun. This appears to be random, and has not been a problem for the last 10 years.
I have tried “the plex dance” several times to regenerate the thumbs and I have also restored to a database backup from the end of April - where are all thumbs are generated. I have tried forcing a metadata refresh. Whatever I try, it’s the same photos that do not have a thumbnail.
I’ve read through dozens of “photo thumbnail” posts, but none of them appear to solve my problems. Please can anyone advise what I can do to troubleshoot this? Or what I should be looking for in debug logs? Or is something cached somewhere that I can clear?
