If you are having problems with transcoding, please try disabling FFMPEG AVIO under Preferences -> Preferences for Playback -> Advanced Video.
Hi Guys,
Thanks all. Disabling FFMPEG AVIO under Preferences -> Preferences for Playback -> Advanced Video fixes the issue. I guess in next release of rasplex this should be turned off be default to make sure HEVC is played.
What does this setting do anyway is it necessary to have this enabled by default?

According to the Plex HT Devs this will be removed from future releases.

Thanks much! This solves my problem. Strange that my 0.4.1 release would work, yet 0.5.0 would not, and the log files show a lack of transcoding profile. Either way, this works!

I set the delay to 10 without any success. I'm going to increase and continue trying. I'll report back here if I find anything worth mentioning.
Just been trawling through old posts, can you check your power supply, should be at least 2 amp, anything less (particularly old mobile phone chargers) has been know to cause network dropouts.

This worked for me, thank you very much.

Thanks, that worked for me.
I have two Pis running Plex 0.5. One works perfectly, the other does not. After one restart / shut down etc it loses the On Deck and Recently Added Views. Iv refreshed the card a number of times and happens everytime. Not sure if this is a card issue or a Pi issue.
Anyone else had this?
They both can still play movies and are they the same model of pii. Do they have the same type of memory card. And are all your settings the same.

Hey I have the same behaviour. Sometimes "On Deck" and "recently added" appears, sometimes not. When rebooting the pi the problem is solved, sometimes. I will try to check with a more powerfull powersupply. Thanks for the suggestion.

Both are running of the TV power supply (both new Sony LCDs) that 4.1 ran off and everything else runs fine

It never appears for me at all, once one restart has happened it never seems to come back

Both B+ bought at the same time, both ran 4 / 4.1 fine and one runs 5.0. The one that doesn't work properly is a 16gb SanDisk extreme so should be fine? The other is the model above but only 8gb? All settings are the same and both play movies / tv shows fine it is just the On Deck / Recently Added that doesn't work
Have also tried re-downloading the imag and flashing again but no luck
I had this same problem (On Deck / Recently Added disappearing after reboot) and fixed it by lowering my overclock settings a bit and doing a full wipe/reinstall on the sd card. I have had no issues since.

I don't have any overclocking on either of the pis. have just tried overclocking and reverting back but no luck either
The SD card without the issues runs fine on either Pi. Is there an issue with Rasplex and the Sandisk Extreme cards? Clutching at straws as what could be the issue
Any other ideas?

Shouldn't be, I use these cards on all my Rasplex instances with no problem, you may have some corruption, suggest reflashing the card again.

Reflashed the cards a few times including downloading the image again just incase the image was corrupted. Tried two cards the same on the same pi and get the same problem

Looks like a hardware issue then, or a power issue, are the chargers both the same (in terms of amp output, i.e. at least 2amp), have you tried swapping chargers?

Running off an Apple 2.1 amp charger and tried of TV usb power supply and a standard 1 amp charger and all give the same problem, tried reflashing from a my macbook rather than iMac and still have the same problem.
No issues with the other type memory card in my other pi or running 0.41 its only 0.5 that causes this issue on one pi
Hi gents,
I'm encountering a trancoding error using 0.5.0. Looking at the logs, it seems that Plex Media Server (I'm running the latest 9.11.7) does not recognise my Pi anymore.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? It would seem that simply adding a transcoder profile will fix this issue...
Thanks,
Ian
Why is this question not answered? I have the same issue for some videos. These files worked in 4.1 version.
EDIT:
I'm sorry, Disabling FFMPEG AVIO did the trick for me. I didn't realize that would be the fix for this issue (too). Thanks!
I do wonder why this is an issue in 5.0. I didn´t have this issue in 4.1.
