Why is this question not answered? I have the same issue for some videos. These files worked in 4.1 version.
EDIT:
I'm sorry, Disabling FFMPEG AVIO did the trick for me. I didn't realize that would be the fix for this issue (too). Thanks!
I do wonder why this is an issue in 5.0. I didn´t have this issue in 4.1.
Due to an upstream change, FFMPEG AVIO will be probaly be removed from future releases.
Which version of Openelec is Rasplex 0.5.0 based on? My guess would be 3.2.x?
I need some kernel modules for a Hifi Berry card that are present in Openelec 4 and onwards, so I'm very interested in hearing about plans and if possible a rough time estimate for when (or if) this will be included in Rasplex.
I don't think that you will receive any estimate at the moment Ebdrup as this in my understanding is related to the Helix merge.
So far the only information I have seen in this relation is that the plex team is working on it but (in usual manner) no estimated date for release has been published.

OpenELEC is currently 3.2.4.
OpenELEC 4.x.x will probably be skipped, once the merge with Helix is completed then OpenELEC 5.x.x will be included (maybe 6.x.x by then), in the words of Plex Inc, 'it will be ready when it's ready'.
Running off an Apple 2.1 amp charger and tried of TV usb power supply and a standard 1 amp charger and all give the same problem, tried reflashing from a my macbook rather than iMac and still have the same problem.
No issues with the other type memory card in my other pi or running 0.41 its only 0.5 that causes this issue on one pi
After upgrading to 0.5.0, when I try to play any video in my 'watch later' queue, it plays the most recent video in the queue.
That's due to a new bug in 'upstream' PHT. (Our term for the official "Plex Home Theater" project.)
I've just tested it myself on a Win7 PC where it works bugged as you describe, always starting the first video in the queue even when I've selected another to start.
Note that this problem only applies to starting a video from 'inside' the "Watch Later" section. If you choose videos from the 'on deck' list in the main menu it will work correctly.
RasPlex coding doesn't even attempt to modify how such things are done. It merely adapts the existing PHT code for running under OpenELEC on the RPi.
So you need to report this to Plex staff in the subforum for the main "Plex Home Theater" project. Only they can modify the main PHT project source code, after which the changes can be ported to RasPlex.

Thanks, and thanks for the workaround too. My only other clients are iOS and web, and of course iOS hasn't been updated for home yet and it works fine on web. So while I was suspecting an upstream bug, I couldn't observe the issue anywhere but under rasplex, so thought I'd mention it here to see if I was alone.
Hello, I updated my rasplex in version 0.5.0, and now when I try to play a movie in my library I have the following message: "Can not Play Please check that the file exists and that the disk is mounted" and "Failed reading one or more elements. "
So when I put my old SD card with the 0.4.1 version all the files are correctly detected and playback is instantaneous.

How to solve this problem?
Have you tried disabling FFMPEG AVIO as suggested elsewhere?
I have Rasplex 0.5.0 running on an RPi2 using BerryBoot and i have noticed a couple of issues. I didn't see them reported anywhere else so i'll put them here:
1. Navigation sounds are not working. I have audio configured correctly (HDMI, DTS/AC3 capable receiver, 5.1 channels) and audio works fine when watching media, just not in the menu navigation. Navigation sounds work correctly when i run OpenElec 5.0.1
2. I have enabled cinematic trailers before movie playback starts. When using PlexHT on OS X or Windows, during a cinematic trailer you can press ] to skip the trailer. In Rasplex, pushing ] just skips forward in time but does not skip to the next track

Other than that it's working great.
Can you explain how you used BerryBoot to get Rasplex working for the Raspberry 2?
