RasPlex 0.6.0 released - Issues and Feedback

Thank you Ned, I did as knight suggested, and there are no issues on the receiver end, I don't get why it would work from my laptop and not from the Pi

Can you ssh in to the Pi and paste the output from the command: tvservice -a

Below is mine:

PCM supported: Max channels: 6, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max samplesize 24 bits.
     AC3 supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 48kHz, Max rate 640 kb/s.
DTS supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 48kHz, Max rate 1536 kb/s.

Thanks for all the hard work!!!!!

High Bit Rate Audio Movies play perfect.

CPU utilization seems to have dropped.

Now playing 1080P DTS, AC3 6ch 640K all without a hiccup.

Totally worth the wait. RPi2 and RASPlex is an awesome combination

(Donation already sent and well worth it)

Ouch!

Sorry @knightorc, quoted wrong post.

Add hdmi_force_edid_audio=1 to the bottom of your config.txt and reboot, then try the tvservice -a again.

Typo corrected, thanks.

Add hdmi_force_edid_audiot=1 to the bottom of your config.txt and reboot, then try the tvservice -a again.

There's a slight typo in Ned's post. There shouldn't be a "t" after "audio". So it should be hdmi_force_edid_audio=1

After fixing the config.txt and rebooting, I get:

PCM supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max samplesize 24 bits.

Is this on all media or just certain types, i.e. MKV's?

i’m having occasional picture drops - and display even show hdmi icon like it is lost signal, only noticed it on 1080p content, my setup is dell 2408wfp via htr-3065. Also very interesting to me is that i have all picture set to keep aspect ratio, but it shown filling whole display, while it is 16:10 and source is obviously 16:9. This did not happen on kwiboo builds or on rasplex 0.5*, any ideas? Also in display adjustment all corners fit correctly.

So far, I've only had the problem on mkv files that are encoded in AAC 5.1 or AC3 5.1. Files that are encoded in 2.0 work fine. As a workaround, I've managed to play 5.1 files by setting the Rasplex audio output to 2.0, but that isn't satisfactory.

I haven't had time to do any more extensive testing.

My existing VPN connections have disappeared with the update to 0.6.0. The files are still in the same place but I can't see or edit the VPN details and there is no option to add a new VPN service either.

Has there been a change in how Rasplex/ Openelec provides openvpn?

The new version works smooth , loving the FF/RW , donation sent for your hard work

Thanks for all the hard work development team! Definitely is much snappier, and smoother transitions.

I do have a question regarding ff/rw. I have a Flirc and am mapping a few keys from the Full Keyboard option. Which buttons on the keyboard utilize the new ff/rw function. I currently have the left and right buttons mapped and they only skip 20 seconds.

Thanks in advance!

After playing around a bit more I am also experiencing the same issue as Nibb31.

Still no Center Channel for 5.1 videos. Any other suggestions?

After updating to 0.6.0 I have trouble with Rasplex not reconnecting through CEC after powering of and on my TV. I have to reboot Rasplex and everything works fine (until I power off and on TV again)

(Everything worked fine in 0.5.1.)

I have reset the CEC to default setting.
I did a update in Plax setting. Should I do a complete new installation?

(Pi2 and LG TV)

I have the same issue with a Samsung TV.

I have the same issue with a Samsung TV.

What Samsung model? I have a UE40ES5500 and CEC is working fine on 0.5.1 and 0.6.0 even after a number of times turning on and off the tv. I do note though that on 0.6.0 rasplex comes out of screensaver a few seconds before CEC kicks in after turning on the tv. ie on 0.5.1 I would turn on the tv, I would see the rasplex screensaver, but as is usual on a Samsung tv the remote does not send CEC remote presses until about 10 seconds have lapsed. Once I press a button rasplex wakes from screensaver (in my case the "dim" screensaver) and I can navigate PHT. On 0.6.0 the screensaver disables early, before buttons register. Not an issue at all, but might be related to the problem you're seeing?

Have just followed your steps to try to replicate this. On both the RPi1 and RPi2 choosing 'Start from beginning' plays another trailer and then starts the movie from the beginning, as per expected result. Suggest you check you installation.

Not a bug, sorry.

I get the same as Ned, play movie with trailers enabled, can choose start from beginning and it plays a trailer then starts the movie, if I choose continue it does without playing a trailer, as expected.

@rcork: What version of PMS / server configuration are you using?

In addition to the 5.1 audio bug, I also have problem reading web radio streams through third party channels on 0.6. I get "Read failed" on Rasplex when they worked fine before in 0.5 and still work on the PC.
