Yep, while DTS-MA has a DTS 5.1 core that can be played by systems that don't support MA, TrueHD is a completely different spec to AC3/DD5.1, the Pi can't play TrueHD so PMS will try to transcode. If you transcode the TrueHD down to AC3 5.1 it should play fine.
Thank you KnightOrc. Virtually all HD-DVDs have either EAC3 or TrueHD audio (and are encoded in VC1). So I have a follow up question:
1. If a TrueHD or EAC3 track is available and can be transcoded to AAC5.1 (which everything seems to be working correctly in this RasPlex version) -- wouldn't the resulting audio stream be at a higher resolution (and hopefully less lossy) than AC3 (which is the lowest resoluton of all multi-channel codecs)? In other words, assuming no transcoding issues, in terms of higher audio resolution shouldn't transcoded TrueHD be better than transcoded EAC3, and both be better than AC3 passthrough? Assume I am locally streaming and have my RasPlex set to Direct Play.
2. Also assuming my RasPlex is set to directly play -- and the 1080p/24 VC1 encode is being properly transcoded to "H264 (High)" -- is there any loss in information or picture quality in the trancode?
My Plex server is based on a i5 Core running at 3.6ghz -- and my RasPlex is the only stream -- so I think I have plenty of server side resources for the transcode.
This lagging/hanging issue between sections/attempting to play an episode is now becoming really annoying, enough to make me switch to something else tomorrow that’s stable until it’s fixed.
I’ve just done another clean install on one of the RPi2’s which was having this problem, and it’s still suffering from it, I’ve just had to power it off as it hung at the point of pressing play on an episode with the “Please wait…” For over 5 minutes. Both RPi2’s were on 0.5.1 before this, and the menu transitions were much smoother. I applaud the devs for getting this out, but it feels slightly rushed. Take your time guys and get it right before releasing, test test test.
If there’s anything I can provide you guys with to help iron this out I’d be more than happy to, just let me know.
I've upgraded my Pi B and been running for a few days. I actually feel like it is a lot less responsive than 0.5.1, especially with starting playback. I also receive some weird errors occasionally when stopping playback. When idle, the Pi uses around 40% CPU constantly (and a bit less during playback), unfortunately I don't have any figures pre 0.6.0.
I would have thought more would report similar experience, I could provide debug-logs if anyone is interested.

Without providing some information no one is going to try to help, this wasn't a rushed release and it is working perfectly fine for a couple of thousand people who have updated to/installed this release, see some of the posts in this topic for more than satisfied users!
I've updated from .5.1 to .6, and when I try to stream the sound from my Macbook via Airplay, I get an error on my RPi saying something like (I'm at work right now, I don't remember the exact message) "unable to play media"
When I stream from iTunes using airplay icon (cd screenshot), it works perfectly...
It worked perfectly on .5.1
Does anyone encountered the same issue ?
I'm having the same problem. An error pops up in RasPlex when I try to stream audio (via airplay) from an iPad running iOS 8.2. I had no problems doing this with .5.1. I'll turn on debugging and see if the logs shed any light on the problem.

AirPlay is still flaky in PHT and therefore Rasplex, has been since the introduction of iOS 7, sometimes it works most times it doesn't, when this is finally fixed in PHT it will filter down into Rasplex. I have an iPod Touch still running iOS 6 and it works every time with every version of Rasplex since 0.4.1.
This is the actual first useful version of RasPlex. Finally! Thank you!
Steven_D I think you will find many of us have been running previous version just fine, and i find your statement rather rude, I wonder what the D stand for in your name......

I was one of those "couple of thousand" until I started experiencing this.
I have already posted as much info as I can to describe the issue(s) in post #99
Apart from that, I'm using a dedicated 5.25V 2A power supply from modmypi on both RPi2's, I've never experienced the rainbow symbol. Booting both off of Samsung 16GB class 10 Evo microSD cards. No overclock on either RPi2. Hardwired via Powerline adapters. Running the latest version of PMS on a Windows machine.

Where would I need to look for any helpful logs?
Have you tried optimising your PMS and cleaning bundles. Is your PMS local or remote? I assume that you are logged into MyPlex.
Failing all else please provide your Rasplex Log, this can be found at /storage/.plexht/temp, please attach the file instead of pasting the whole log in your reply.

I’ll get the logs on today, thanks for the info on where to find them.
I definately selected "Raspberry Pi2" and "0.6.0" from the dropdown menus . The second time, I downloaded the file from github and selected that as the image file.
If I switch the RPi2 off and on after it hangs on that screen, there's a new message at the top left:
***Error in mount_storage: mount_common: Could not mount /dcv/mmcblk0p2 ***
### Starting debugging shell... type exit to quit ###
h: can't access tty: job control turned off
No idea what that means?

Nevermind, turns out it was a dodgy SD card adapter! <_< Everything works beautifully! Thanks dev team you rock! :D Any chance of a "Go To Time Mark" feature? e.g. "Go to 28m 36s"? I believe Kodi has had this since 2009, would be very handy! Thanks again :D
Also I noticed in the update notes about support for showing shared sections on home screen and to "enable by adding ```sharedsectionsonhome``` to ```advancedsettings.xml```". Is this done on the SD card? Is it as simple as just adding "sharedsectionsonhome" on a new line and saving? Thanks in advance!
I seem to be having the same issue as ClubLife.
Installed 0.6.0 clean install. Starts fine and goes through setup. However when I try and restart Rasplex it hangs on the initial screen ( "RasPlex (official) - Version: RP-0.6.0" )
It will stay like this until I cycle the power at which point it says that it can't mount the volume etc.
After finding ClubLife's resolution was a dodgy SD card adapter I have tried 2 different adapters, 2 different SD cards and 2 different laptops (in case the card reader was to blame) in every possible permutation but I get the same issue each time. I've even tried installing 0.5.1 again, setting up, restarting to confirm it doesn't have the issue (which it doesn't) and then upgrading to 0.6.0 from within RasPlex but I still get the same issue. Is anyone else having the same issue/able to shed any light on it? Is there anything I can provide too help you?
I'm not sure if I can get logs for this - once the issue has happened it doesn't complete the restart so can't SSH in to the device, and if I try and if I put the SD card into my PC to read the files, the partition I need to access doesn't show up - I can see it using fdisk -l on my ubuntu laptop, but can't access it and doesn't show at all on Windows.
On a side note, I did notice that when using 0.6.0 (before trying to restart and losing it) that it definitely seemed slower than 0.5.1 - noticeable delays when opening libraries/seasons, and also seems a bit clunky just changing the fanart in the background when just sitting on the home screen.

I had a similar issue. first time it worked but something crashed (after setup / pin etc) and it froze during boot.. after 5 reinstalls and re-downloads, I tried ... as suggested... switching not the adapter but the usb port (I was using a usb/microSD adapter) and after doing this it worked..
Problem: RasPlex 0.6.0 Plex Home Theatre (full/clean install) and configuring scripts as per instructions in RemotePi support documentation doesn't enable shutdown function. The configuration scrips and earlier versions of RasPlex enabled the shutdown function.
Solution: RasPlex 0.6.0 has a setting (System Settings > Services > RemotePi Board) allowing the user to easily enable or disable RemotePi board support without the need to install and configure scripts as detailed on the MSL Digital Remote Pi Board support web pages.
Comment: Very thoughtful of the Rasplex team to add a feature to support this component! For several reasons (more to do with finding a case to accommodate the Raspberry Pi 2 and RemotePi board that is also strong/tough/robust) I expect to remove the RemotePi Board from my RasPlex/Raspberry media streaming solution design. I will report more on my efforts to select, build and evaluate component combinations in a posting elsewhere in this forum.
Great work on 0.60 - it seems to run great on both my Pi2 and three Pi B+s.
I have found what looks like a bug though... but only on the Pi2.
When browsing TV shows, if you enter a Show with 720p episodes, open a Season and Press Play on an Episode - it just shows a black screen and won't play.
But if you open this episode first and get the full information and then press Play - then it plays fine. (or if you play it from On Deck it also plays fine)
Very strange.
This only seems to affect 720p MKV shows for some reason - my SD and 1080p shows don't have this problem. And this is not a problem on my Pi B+s.
I upgraded my Pi2 with a clean install (not an upgrade). Everything is standard - the only manual change I made is the hdmi_force_edid_audio=1 in the config, txt file (which fixed my issue of not getting 5.1 to my amp properly)
I've tried several times to get Rasplex 0.5.1 and 0.6.0 running on my Raspberry Pi 2, but it always hangs on the square color test pattern. The same Pi 2 and SD card work fine when I put a Raspian image on them. Also, I didn't have any trouble getting 0.5.1 running on a Raspberry Pi B. Anyone have any ideas why my Pi 2 hangs on the color test pattern? I'm using the GetRasplex.bin utility on a computer running Linux Mint to install images on SD cards. Thanks.

That's because You are installing the wrong image, make sure you use the latest GetRasplex and select Pi2.

I did download 0.6.0 using GetRasplex. For the install onto my Pi 2, I selected "Raspberry Pi2" under "Step 1", "0.6.0" under "Step 2", and selected "0.6.0.img.gz" under "Select Image File". I just tried the SD card write again and still get stuck at the square color test pattern when I start it up.
When I tried this earlier with a Pi B, I selected "Raspberry Pi" under Step 1, along with the appropriate version and image file, and everything worked fine. I'm not sure why my Pi2 isn't working with RasPlex, but the same Pi2 and SD card work fine using Raspbian, so I don't think it's a hardware problem.
