Rasplex .37 Freezes when wired network is enabled

As the title says, as soon as I plug in the network wire (or I enable the wired connection in settings after having plugged in the cable) Rasplex freezes. I don't have a wifi to try but I used to have Plexbmc + Raspbmc installed on the same Pi device and they ran just fine.

Any ideas?

Btw, many thanks for this effort, Pi + Plex is going to be an awesome device!

Thanks!!

Have you tried doing a fresh flash of Rasplex and having the wired connection already plugged in when you do the setup?

Ive had no issues on .37 with wired connection however mine has been connected the whole time including during setup.

One more piece of information: It seems to have something to do with the Plex server: once I turned off the service it started right up. The server is at the latest rev.. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wierd, what server version do you run?    I havnt encountered this issue but we are running the latest preview version only available to plexpass users so Im afraid i have no more ideas.

Hopefully someone else has some, best of luck!

Thanks for the reply!

I did a couple of fresh flashes: if I ran the setup with the wired connection plugged in, it freezes before the setup menu even comes up. If I start unplugged I can go through the menu and it freezes as soon as I plug the wire in. The server I'm running is the latest available to non-plexpass users (I don't have the version in front of me right now but I did a 'check for updates' and it returned it was the latest ver.

Sounds like I'll wait for a server update then (or get Plexpass :)

Thanks again!

Same here.

Besides the Ethernet cable, what else do you have plugged into the Pi?

When I first was installing RasPlex, it seemed frozen when I had both a keyboard and mouse plugged in, but worked fine when I removed the mouse.  This is because the two drew too much power (I also had a really crappy power cord).

I only have a radio dongle for a mouse/keyboard (and the network wire). I'll give it a try later, both removing the dongle or trying another charger, however this didn't use to happen when I was using PlexBMC.

Thanks...

Strange.  I'm running 1.37 on a wired network.  For reference, my server is running on an unRAID box that I haven't bothered to update in about 6 months.  Not that that helps you much...

So I am having a very similar issue.. 1.37 seems to be really sluggish in the menus.. I flashed to 1.30 and it was fast as hell.. But my remote media server was not showing up.. Turned out my media server wasn't running the most recent version.. So I updated that as well.. Didn't help the rasPlex issue though.. I am running the ethernet wired and a wireless usb keyboard.. I tried a hardwired keyboard and it made no difference...

I ended up reverting to 1.35 and everything seems to be working decent.. Still a little sluggish in the menus but not too bad.. And there was some stuttering in the video when I started streaming but I think after a minute or so, it was smooth and watchable.. Not sure if I should change it from direct to like 8mbps under system... I will keep playing with this more tomorrow...

Just to update: I tried earlier releases and I have exactly the same experience as slayorktc. 1.36 froze but 1.35 booted up and went through the initial setup. Now everything works EXCEPT when I hit the 'photos' menu. Then it freezes.
