RasPlex 9.9.20 is now released, which brings a few new features and a couple of much needed bug fixes:
-Fixed issue where NowPlaying screen didn't display artwork properly when playing from IOs
-Changed exit button on cec/ir remote to make more sense
-Fixed Fast Forward & Rewind
-Replaced useless Sleep function with reboot
-Improved support for AirPlay on IOs7 7
-Fixed issue where changing refresh rate resets audio settings
-Fixed player crash on second MP3 playback
-Fixed playing theme music for Tv shows.
We have decided that once we fix the bug with AC3/DTS playback in transcode streams, and the bug with autorefreshrate, (planned for 9.9.21) the resulting release will be what we release as 0.4.0 after it has gone through community testing. All existing builds should then automatically update to this. After this, we are going to clean up the code and move the majority of our development efforts to CuBox-i, but will continue to triage and fix bugs as they are reported.
Thanks folks! Enjoy.
As always, please report any issues following our guidelines.

Sounds good! I have still two questions :)...
-will the 0.4.0 release be supoortet on CuBox-x?
-which versions of CuBoxes should be supportet (what is your recommendation)?
Regards

So Release 0.4.0 is the end of the line for Plex on the Raspberry Pi?
Regards.
Any information on where you can find out more about the plex on cubox-i?
It's a bit early to talk about cubox-i yet has we have barely started to see how the port would go.
For those wondering, here are the available models : http://cubox-i.com/
As of now we only have on hand a Cubox-i1 on hand, and some i4 are on the way.
We wont be able to tell more about this before we can have something working and some more hardware :)
Also this thread is meant to be about 9.9.20 on which we are waiting for some feedback , maybe it'd be better to open a Cubox-i thread to discuss this :)
9.9.20 so far so good for me.
Ethernet dropouts (which I have previously written about) seem to be gone by disabling Myplex.
After flashing 9.9.20, I immediately experienced dropouts during the PIN request (displayed underneath the initial rasplex settings window where we choose connection, services, etc...).
After rebooting and cancelling the myplex sign-in, everything is working and the connection to my PMS is steady (and the ethernet light stays on all the time!).
Is it possible that myplex does something in terms of network requests that causes the ethernet module to temporarily fail?
Everything is possible, but this is quite suprising. I am always using rasplex and i haven't experienced such a bahaviour.
Maybe you could have a look at the logfile and see if there is anything different in there with/without myplex.
If you get any clue with this, just file an issue on github with more details.
Thanks :)
It seems I spoke too soon as I’m still experiencing the dropouts

Just as with RP-9.9.19, this new RP-9.9.20 seems unable to shutdown (or reboot) cleanly after using any media at all (even just poster JPGs).
The only time I can do a shutdown with either of these versions is immediately after boot, and only if I don't move the 'cursor' from the 'Search' command it starts on.
Then I can press DPad_Left and choose the "Shutdown" command and have it work correctly, in that it not only shuts off the video signal, but also stops accessing USB and after some LED blinking stabilizes with only the red LED shining. This is the ONLY time when it can be considered safe to turn an RPi off, without risk of damage to SDcard or USB stick content.
But if anything at all has been done in the client, even just moving the cursor to a section entry with shelf JPGs, then such proper shutdown becomes impossible.
The video signal turns black all right, but the LEDs keep blinking forever, including the USB access LEDs (threatening damage if power removed).
Fortunately I found one trick to make a safe shutdown, starting with a failed shutdown as described above.
In this state I can disconnect the network cable a few seconds and then reconnect it again. (The LEDs temporarily change to 'red only'.)
Doing so always causes the software to soft-reboot, and after that reboot I can again use the shutdown command with good chance of success.
(As long as the cursor NEVER leaves the "Search" menu entry before I open the side menu.)
Since every careless shutdown raises the risk of damage to SDcard or USB content, this is a VERY serious bug.
And this bug did not exist in RP-9.9.18, which nearly always succeeded with its shutdowns, without any special measures.
(The only failures being when it crashed due to some known bugs, such as episode 'stepping' in preplay screens etc.)

Interesting new problem, when I use my TV remote to power down my TV, RasPlex reboots, doesn't matter which input I have selected, didn't do this in any of the other experimental or stable releases that I've tested the last few months.
how difficult would it be to enable addons and the live tv page? Is it simply a skin mod? I noticed the 3.1 and lower versions had the functionality available if you used a different skin, but its been completely disabled in the 9.9.x releases. If this removal of addons and live tv is intentional let me know please, and I'll look for a reasonable way to run PHT proper at each TV. Otherwise, Id love to see at least the ability to add the pvr plugins and use them within the "Plex" skin.

This is probably a new issue related to the fact that we replaced the sleep function with restart as RPi is not able to sleep anyways and that the Restart feature was not available in the new skin.
We probably have to make this in a cleaner way. Would you please file an issue on github so that we dont forget that one ? :)
Not new issues, but I wanted to test on this version as well:
1. I get double subtitles when I transcode and force the subtitles to be transcoded as well. I see the transcoded subtitles correctly but in addition to that, another set of subtitles that are displayed as if i'm using direct play.
2. If I don't force the subtitles to be transcoded, watching trancoded movies causes subtitles to be out of sync when resuming the movie.
Edit: Also it appears that this new version keep turning on my TV after I shut it down. So something funky is probably going on with the CEC.

I have added my report to another report of the same issue on github (#134).
Thanks for all the hard work. Looking forward to CuPlex!
nm, reposted in a Cuplex thread.
Thanks for the effort, just one question, currently I cannot play movies with dts-hd sound track, my receiver can process this and I have checked the checkbox of dts capable receiver but playing the movie results in stuttering sound and video that jumps from play to pause etc…
Is this a bug or do I mis something in the configuration?
Greetings

I know this version is supposed to have FF and Rev fixed, but they don't really work on my setup.
I have the following mapping on a Harmony 900 and the behavior is rather random. Sometimes it does skip, but mostly not. The FF and Rev "works" in a funny way. The time jumps, but when I hit "play" it goes back to the original point.... Strange....

Is there any way around this?
At the moment, I switch off my TV, the Pi reboots, and when it comes back up it switches my TV back on again!
I just want to be able to switch off the TV and the Pi to ignore it and remain on.
I disconnect the pi every night… Or shut it down via ssh. Which makes me think, is there a wake on Lan option for the pi? That would be great
