RasPlex 9.9.20 - bug fixes and a couple features (very close to 0.4.0)

Is there any way around this?

At the moment, I switch off my TV, the Pi reboots, and when it comes back up it switches my TV back on again!

I just want to be able to switch off the TV and the Pi to ignore it and remain on.

I had similar issue. I have my rasplex connected to a Denon AVR and when I would change the input source (to watch TV for example) on Denon, the raspberry would reboot and then switch my Denon back to the the source connected to it.

To solve it, I added the following two lines in the config.txt

#ignore HDMI controls
hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1
hdmi_ignore_cec=1

This will of course, stop you to control the plex via CEC. Works for me as I use a harmony remote.

Maybe hdmi_ignore_cec_init is sufficient?

Won't work for me as I use CEC exclusively to control the Pi.

hdmi_ignore_cec_init should be enough for your case (and mine I guess, but I just played safe, and I really don;t use CEC...)

hdmi_ignore_cec_init Doesn't sent initial active source message. Avoids bringing (CEC enabled) TV out of standby and channel switch when rebooting. (source: http://elinux.org/RPiconfig)

Yeah i made a few fix for this which will be in next releases.

The normal way which is the way openelec would work is when you poweroff the tv, it should poweroff the Rpi.

Thta's how it's intended to work and how it will work in next release :)

hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1 doesn't fix the reboot issue, just tried it now, power off the TV (and receiver), Pi reboots, TV (and receiver) start up again...  Will wait for the next release :)

After i went from 18 to 20 the playback controls are very strange on cec. Back (rev) will ahow initial screen with audio of movie in the background. Also subtitles not always show. And it revoots when turning tv off.

Please can there be an option to select what happens? I just want my Pi to stay on all the time. As you know, there is no power on switch for the Pi so having to unlplug it and plug it back in every time to start it up is a real pain and the Pi hardly uses any power anyway.

If working properly, hdmi_ignore_cec_init and hdmi_ignore_cec would be how you should customize the behavior..

Or just wait for the bug fix

For this HDMI-CEC issue there is a work around i have found. Just navigate in to the CEC menu, Preferences -> System -> Input Devices -> Peripherals.

In there you can get to CEC menu and change the behaviours when TV shutsdown and turns off. I have set them both to None.

This means that Pi is always on ... don't know if that a problem, it only 5W of power max that it can use. But for those of use who overclock I wouldn't want it burn itself up.

Been a little quiet around here guys, how are things looking for a 0.4.0 ?

Thank you, this worked perfectly.

I have my PI connected to the USB port of my TV. When I turn on the TV the Plex boots up. I WOULD LOVE there to be only 1 screen that says plex while this powers up. Anything to increase the boot speed would be great to.. Love the plex player - thank you.

I don't know why I never thought of doing that. Now my rasplex can turn on and off with my tv. thanks.

Note that the power output from the TV is generally with lower amperage than a proper USB charger, so if you’re using high energy cost USB devices, things may not work as well.

Since upgrading my remote no longer stops or plays via CEC, any workaround for this ?

I have to instead hit okay to bring up the menu and pause / play that way.

Found a Bug the causes RasPlex to completely crash every time you exit playback when use the "shuffle" or "queue" options... on any media (movies, tv shows, music) Anyone else have this issue or maybe try it to see if it is just me...

https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/issues/149

This is probably a new issue related to the fact that we replaced the sleep function with restart as RPi is not able to sleep anyways and that the Restart feature was not available in the new skin.

We probably have to make this in a cleaner way. Would you please file an issue on github so that we dont forget that one ? :)

I'm having this too. I love the CEC support on the Rasplex but the result of this is that I turn the TV off, and the Rasplex reboots, turning the TV back on again. D:

Is anybody else having video calibration issues on this release?

I did a fresh install of 9.9.20 last night and now video will fill the screen correctly but the UI is underscanned on the bottom of the screen. If I calibrate it, it seems aligned properly:

If I compensate for the mis-calibration by bringing the bottom right anchor down to about -56, the UI looks correct but the playing video looks off:

Any ideas?
