RasPlex 9.9.20 - bug fixes and a couple features (very close to 0.4.0)

Weird. HDMI or composite?

That has to be HDMI since 1080p is impossible with composite video signal standards.

How do you know it’s 1080p? Didn’t see it mentioned

It is in the posted images?

@liiight HDMI at 1080P

It's going through a receiver which is a variable I haven't controlled to, but it always has on lower versions too...

Please can there be an option to select what happens? I just want my Pi to stay on all the time. As you know, there is no power on switch for the Pi so having to unlplug it and plug it back in every time to start it up is a real pain and the Pi hardly uses any power anyway.

Seconded, I find the behaviour where it turns itself off very annoying - I don't want to wait for it to start up when I turn on my TV, and as you say, it barely uses any power. I think this should either be an option in the menu, or staying on should be it's default behaviour.

Hmm, I just tried the

hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1

hdmi_ignore_cec=1

params and it's still turning the Pi off when the TV turns off. Is there any way around this?

You can change this setting under peripherals in the menu. Just click on the cec one and choose the options.

I can't seem to get 9.9.20 to boot; using the installer on OS X Mavericks.  The PI just sits there.

I've had this problem on two rPIs now; the mechanism holding the SD card is unreliable - try squeezing the card against the board to ensure contact on the pins during boot.

If this works, you may wish to add a USB stick; In this setup the SD is only used to boot.

Will not install on older Pi version!

Just been using the new version, some great changes and seems to work a lot smoother, still slow between screens and loading up data but still much improved

Great work guys

Is there a next button mapped to  HDMI CEC? (for queuing)

Depending on the size of your libraries it can take a 5 to 10 seconds i'd say. Though there is a huge process going on when entering the library as there is a lot of data to be processed.

When you enter a library, it will parse a Huge request from the server and check every single details for every movie.

I have been discussing with PlexInc a way to refine those requests so that you dont have all the details when entering the lib... you basically dont need all the actors and other info stuff in that screen;

that would drastically improve the laoding time, but there is some coding conceptual problem behind that is that its hard to assume what another skin than the default one would display.

i'll keep discussing that with them so see if we can find a compromise, but that will take some time if it would be meant to change :)

I've been getting some critical issues with PMS 0.9.9.6. Besides the missing docks that was already reported, I'm getting major freezes after a while when the RPI has been idle (can't even SSH to device to reboot it)

i'll try to get some logs when I have a chance, but I wonder if someone else experience this issue as well.

Haven't updated to 0.9.9.6 after reading about the missing docks, do see that 0.9.9.7 is out now though.

Yeah, I installed it. I'll check it when i'm home but I doubt it'll make any difference based on its changelog.

To fix the ondeck and playstate issue, you'll need to wait for 1.0.11 as the issue is now on client-side :)

You mean wait for the next PHT?

There is a problem with the introduction of network settings (LAN). The onscreen keyboard is non-functional. I couldn't go to the end of the introduction of IP using the TV's remote control.

this will probable takes ages to filter into Rasplex - and we're stuck with PMS 9.9.5 until then.
