Is it possible to downgrade back to RC1 from RC2 without a clean flash? The AC3 / DTS passthrough issue is one I would rather not live with and RC1 worked better for me in that regard.

yes, you can do a manual "update" with the rc1 files (i just did that). dont forget to uncheck auto update...
make sure the folder "keymaps" exists
This folder exists but isn't openelec read only and therefore I am unable to upload something to the RPI?
Having a bit of an issue here.
I have a problem where by if I turn my Sony TV off (setting to standby using the remote or by the button on the TV) Rasplex is turning the TV back on over HDMI after a few seconds.
Is there any way around this?
*EDIT*
Scrap that! I had to set something in the 'preferences menu' to not shutdown when I turn off the TV.
A lot off freeze and reboot of the PI for me with that update.
Trying to watch a TV Show this morning and i got 2 reboot and 1 freeze in 20 minutes. Can't manage to see the end of my episode :(
Got the same issue (freeze mainly) 2 days ago when i was watching a movie, but i was thinking it's due to the encoding of the movie but apparently not.
Someone else got the same issue ?.
I’m having an issue using URL commands after the update. Worked fine before. I’m using the normal navigation commands with iRule. I confirmed its not irule by trying it from a browser. I first updated to rc2 then did a fresh install. Also tried on another pi. No luck

No, "/storage", and folders under it are supposed to be read/write, unless something went wrong. You can SSH into your raspberry and check, and fix it if it's read only...
Hi Guys,
Ran manual update (from 0.4.0-rc1 to rc2) after having continual dropouts on wifi post auto-update. Problem still persists, continually returns I/O / Operation / operation aborted / did not receive a reply. After a couple of attempts to connect it usually drops that wireless network from the list.
Setup was working relatively well under 0.3.X distro. Hope its just an operator error ;).
Changed Wireless hardware and all good, it appears Netgear WNA1000M wasn't getting handled properly, but TP-Link TL-WN722N seems to be working a treat.
Good to see that the Music section is now working.
Cheers,
Nato.sys
Bit late but just goy home and updated to RC2.
Shutdown in my case not fixed, still reboots.
Music playback works fine.
Video playback, in Movie section the movie freezes for a short period every few seconds. The TV shows playback without freezing but not as smooth as in RC1. All my Movies and TV shows use the H264 codec.
Edit: Start Movie, Pauze Movie and play again. It still freezes but less frequent. Actually only happens on 1080p movies.
UI is not as responsive as in RC1.
Other Raspberry doesn't want to update, update finish, reboot checksum error, revert to RC1. And it says no updates available anymore.
Edit: After a reboot again, RC2 runs.
Hello,
I have a problem on rasplex 0.4.0 RC2. Some of the covers of my movies are not displayed in rasplex.
It weird because the covers are OK in plex media server, when I go to the detail of the movie the cover is OK, but on the "recently added" section and in the movie section the cover is not displaying.
I have tried to re-do pre-caching but it hasn't changed anything.
But it's not for all the movies, some have the cover ok and some other not...
It seems that the problem appears when the movies is added to plex when the raspberry is off, I think I only have this problem with the movies...
Did someone have the same problem?

Where did you find that switch? I guess I'm being blind, but I went through the preferences and didn't find anything like that.

Preferences / System (cog wheel) / Input Devices / Peripherals
There you will find an entry for 'CEC Adapter', and opening that entry will present you with a list of possible interactions between RasPlex and a TV set.
Those interactions use a command protocol implemented for the HDMI interface, and include having RasPlex control the TV or vice versa, not only for turnon/turnoff events but also for other things.

Would it be possible to get a config file that will include recommended value for rpi OC to use with rasplex? (taking into consideration that I run with an enclosed case)

That depends on what you mean by 'enclosed case'. There can be no single recommendation to cover all cases.
Standard closed cases for the RPi should include ventilation slits, and placed in a position with normal room air circulation around it such a case allows considerable overclocking. I use such a case myself, with the RPi placed behind my TV set, seated on top of a network switch (fairly cool) on the same table as the TV set (supposedly a 'computer table' though I use it as a 'media table' with some of my game consoles on its keyboard shelf).
But if you're talking about a fully closed box case, possibly stuffed inside some TV cabinet, then any overclocking at all might fry the chips.
I can't recommend what settings would be best for you, but can simply tell you what I've chosen to use for my own RPi.
Those settings are as follows:
arm_freq=950 core_freq=450 sdram_freq=450 over_voltage=4
Note that changes of this kind need to be entered near the end of the existing config.txt file, either replacing the existing entry for "over_voltage=0" or placed after that one (the last entry of identical kind rules).

Thanks, I’ll give it a try

You might want to add a fan to your Raspberry Pi if you want to overclock it. The chips run very hot as there is no cooling on them.
I have Raspbmc on a separate SD card - In the Raspbmc Settings you can see Hardware temperature.
My Raspberry Pi was running at least at 55C (130F) with loads of space and ventilation around it. On a hot day it could go up to 70C easily and that is with no overclocking.
So I added 4 Aluminium heat sinks to chips - no difference.
So I added a little 5V fan to the case slots - powered off my power supply which has 3 USB power out ports as I saw that trying to power it off Raspberry Pi is not a good idea...
This keeps the Raspberry Pi about 7C cooler at around 48C (118F).
Sound interesting. Do you have a link for that fan? Is it quiet? That’s a just since I use the pi in the bedroom

It is very quiet - a whisper - my AV system fan drowns it out.
I got mine by the dozen 3 years ago in the computer street market in Hong Kong.
5v Brushless fan RDM2510B
But if you search the internet for Mini 5v cooling fan loads come up.
You can compare fan speed and airflow rate - the higher the better. But more speed can also mean more noise. You can also use 2 fans instead of one, if you case has more vent holes on top. (or make some new vent holes.
The fans I have are cheaper two cable (2 pin) type. 3 pin type have the extra monitoring cable (tacho) so that a system that can use this will buzz if fan is not working. You can still use a 3 cable type as not necessary to connect the yellow third cable - just the red (postive) & black (negative) -although some fans have green (tacho), yellow (postive) & black (negative). (read more here http://www.pcbheaven.com/wikipages/How_PC_Fans_Work/)
Then I cut of the one end off a USB cable. You connect the red & black power cables together.
I see this one on etsy:
https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/116745266/mini-cooling-fan-for-raspberry-pi?ref=related-4
Which they are saying is good for the Raspberry Pi and suggesting connecting it to the Raspberry Pi pins.
I however read that this could cause even further heating and power surge problems. (http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53233)
So better to be safe and plug it into its own power supply.
RC3 is out, i'll lock this topic for now, https://forums.plex.tv/topic/105347-rasplex-rc3-issues-please-report-feedback-here/ :D
