I used the plex home theater branch. My music and photo sections open just fine but the movie and tv show just go yo a black screen. I can exit back to the main menu with no problem.
Weird! Did you check the log file? I think its in `~/.plexht/temp` off the top of my head.
I tested both of the skins mentionned above and they both work here.
They are both smoother than mediastream wich is not really a surprise to be honnest.
The good news os that it means the GUI can be musch smoother with a well made skin... we should be back with some exciting news sometimes soon on this topic :)

What are you using for network. I am on old g/b wireless and it is causing all sorts of issues because of the slowness. I am upgading this week to n so maybe that will solve my problems.

Newbie on rasplex.
I come from plexbmc and want to give a try to this beautiful OS.
About the skins :
I tried to use the retroplex skin (found here http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/54671-retroplex-for-plexpass-beta/ ) with the plex HT branch (called "next beta" here).
1/ I put the folder in `~/.plexht/addons`
2/ Reboot raspberry
3/ apply skin from 'appearance' menu
4/ PROBLEM : everything turns black
5/ I have to reinstall rasplex
Do you have any idea ?
Second, I tried to download refocus skin from https://github.com/sandman4sure/skin.refocus_for_plex_back_to_blue_edition/tree/plex_ht but zip link is dead for me...

I've found Refocus takes a long time to load my movies sections (309 items). It didn't really seem to faze MediaStream, is there something I need to do to get it a little smoother?
Ater a second look it seems that I did have to refocus master as opposed to the one for plexht. Reinstalled and it is working. How do I set the skin up so that my fan art shows on the main page? BTW thanks for all the trouble shooting.

Under "Appearance" settings, enable the "Global Slideshow."
I'd also love to remove On Deck/Recently Added. There's a system setting there but doesn't seem to do anything when I try and change it.
I added Refocus last night, and am mostly content with it (huge improvement over Mediastream!) Question though...is there a good way to cycle through pictures on the main screen? I added a folder with some pictures but (maybe because I am at 4% zoom due to overscan) they are stretched and cropped. If I enable System Slideshow, it takes forever to load a random movie/TV show picture. Right now I have it set to just be black, but it looks rather empty...

what class sd card are you using and which Rpi? 256? or 512?
This was on a Class 4, though I am upgrading to a class 10 tomorrow and will reflash everything. It is also a 512MB Rpi.

i use a class 10 scandisk ultra global slide show works fast pulls art from tv music and movies with no problem

I have also tried out the reFocus for Plex "Back to Blue" Edition Skin and was very impressed (the Skin Dev was very helpful to fix some issues with his PHT version).
However, I can't see the entries/items under the Programs menu.
Does anyone know what needs to be done to get those to display in this skin as well?
Would be great if I could also run the rasplex update script directly out of that skin.

I`m trying out the refocus theme and i like the snappy menus and how fast most of the UI is, but it`s really slow loading my movies folder when selecting "all movies"
another thing is that i would love to have the mediastream looks. perhaps some nice person out there could optimize it a bit.

I'm having the same issues, Maybe I need to cull my movie collection.
The issue is not in the skin at this stage but in the server reply xml parsing. Plex team has prepared some new code regarding this so its worthless trying to fix the existing one. But the new one didnt came into our hands yet

When I download the RasPlex installer it formats my 16GB SD to a 250MB FAT format (rasplex then boots fine), and this skin is about 70MB which wont fit on the free space.
I'm guessing im doing something wrong here?
