RasPlex Support

Are you running the installer as an administrator in windows 7/8?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD

Yes, the installer works perfectly.  I have also tried without the installer and arrive at the same issue.

I should also add that the RasPlex, now loading screen flashes many times before going completely to black and never coming back. This goes on for at least 10 minutes after powering on.

Wondering if its my power adapter. I am going to order a 2.1 a ipad compatible micro usb charger and see if it makes a difference.

Can't control Music from Windows Phone 7 Plex app.  I can browse and start, but can't stop/pause or queue music.  Same thing from Plex/Web.  Anyone else have this same issue and does it work from iOS/Android apps?  I am guessing not since it does not from Plex/Web.

Hi,

Thanks for you work, rasplex is getting better with every build!

Here is my list of problems and features wish list:

1. Sometimes it does not save the time position on video.

2. It would be great to have a mouse support. iOS remote is toooo slow.

3. Fast forward and rewind is not working at all.

4. WiFi does not reconnect. My router is configured to reboot every late night, in the morning rpi is not connected to WiFi.

5. Is it possible to turn off hdmi signal (sleep display) after some inactivity timeout ?

6. It seems that the theme volume setting does not work.

7. Any plans for the usb audio support? Rpi jack audio sucks.

Tried the new power adapter. No luck.  At least now it just goes from initial splash screen to now loading screen for about a minute or two then to black.  No more flashing.  I guess last thing to try is a new SD card.

I'm am getting choppy video playback with version 0.1.33 so I've reverted back to 0.1.32 which has no problems playing content

Is anyone else seeing this?

1.33 has some issues once into library. Very slow. I don’t remember if the titles scrolled on 1.31 but could that cause the slow down? It also took me about 6 tries for the network to connect over Edimax wifi dongle. Not complaining, love that there has been at least an update a week but just wanted to post some of my issues. I like the blue highlights by the way. Also is there a way to fix the main menu so that when I highlight an option it doesn’t expand off the left side of the screen. Recommendations is one that I know does that. I tried to uses the screen adjustment but everything else looks fine.

1080 playback is definitely choppy, 720 as well. SD seems to work fine. Video playback was better in 1.31 although I still had freezes. Still early in development so to be expected. You guys are doing great work. I wish I could do more than just post in the forum but I have no coding experience.

@mjr1284.  I had a similar problem and this was my solution:  http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/65429-solved-frozen-splash-screen-black-screen/

Vers 0.1.33

Ok , We need to ditch the yellowish orange colors throughout !   The theme you have now for rasplex setting looks awseome and should flow throughout rasplex  Looks sharp Love the black  and red on the logo far as eye candy there is nothing that will compete!, if you change that

No playback issues for me with 1080p or 720p howerver when i use DTS through my reciever I still get the popping before a movie starts but only on dts??

Returning back to main menu still laggs

No Channel Support, any update on when you will get this working?

Live tv still very buggy using my HD Homerun but this doesn't work that great in xbmc either

I may try to edit this myself if I get time as far as the theme goes

Keep up the good work!

Remote with ipad plex v3.0 app works fine

CPU usage during playing 720p at 1500 kbps is around 40/50% with overclock medium

Questions :

Problem with internationnal settings to save (i m working without) any CEC controler

How large is the cache (any backup possible if i change my sd)?

How can i setup the bitrate of playing movies ?

How to choose the subtittles / default language in the movie presentation ?

Having problem with wlan adapter Asus WL-167G v3 - can't get it to work.

Acccording to http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#Working_USB_Wi-Fi_Adapters the Asus WL-167G v3 with [RTL8188SU] should be supported:

(WL-167G v3 USB ID 0b05:1791, working out-of-the-box on Linux raspberrypi 3.2.27+ #160 PREEMPT Mon Sep 17. Does not require powered hub.)

I started my box and added the stick and immediately it reboots. That reboot does not happen via a powered hub.

Any ideas? - sorry I'm a newbie ...

And: Thanks a lot for that really cool piece of software!!!

A new user here, having problems getting rasplex to work properly.  I tried both 1.32 & 1.33 and have the same problem.  Video buffers every few seconds.  I have a v2 RPi  (512 memory) and my PMS is on a Synology NAS.  I trying to stream blu-ray rips/folders directly to the RPi.  I can see the NAS is not doing any transcoding (CPU remains about 5% while streaming).  Everything is connected by CAT6 ethernet (no wifi involved).  I have a Transcend 32 GB Class 10 SDHC card.  RPi is connected to my 1080P TV by HDMI.  The movie I'm testing on is Argo (MPEG-4 AVC video with DTS-HD Audio).

Am I expecting too much too early?  Should I be able to get this to work without buffering?

Thanks in advance.

So first of all, wanted to say I'm amazed at the progress this project has achieved in just a few months. Everything has been working wonderfully for just about everything I've tried. One of the few things I haven't gotten to work is airplay of mlb.tv from my iPad. Iwas able to airplay music but mlb.tv made the pi reboot ( and after rebooting it required a hard reboot to get network connectivity back.)

Frankly I have no idea if this is something that should work or not since I have little experience with airplay. I do know mlb.tv is supposed to support airplay, but I've never done it. At any rate I figured I'd toss this out here on the off chance someone else has tried it

It might be the DTS track is causing the issue. A 1080p rip with DTS-HD audio might be too much for the PI at he moment.
Try it with a rip with a different audio track.
If it is the issue you have three possibilities going forward:

- set DTS to pass through to your receiver if you have one
- have the sever transcode the audio (maybe an issue for some NAS)
- hope the PI gets hardware DTS licence (there is a thread on the PI website in regard to this; I am not sure what the latest status is)

Sorry if this is obvious, but I did some searching around and did not find a definitive answer. I haven't received my RPi yet, but is it possible to use rasplex with a local hdd plugged into the usb for content without having PMS set up on another machine? Can I install PMS on the usb hdd attached to the RPi?

A little more info on my setup.  I'm using an older receiver (Denon avr-2807) which does not support DTS HD or DD True HD.  Can this be the problem?  On Argo, I'm seeing "DTS Digital" on my receiver.  Can the buffering be caused by some kind of transcoding from DTS HD to DTS Digital?  I don't see any CPU spike on my PMS when watching the movie which leads to believe there is no transcoding happening.

I have a limited supply of Blu-rays.  The only movie I have that is MPEG-4 and DD 5.1 is Open Season 1 (According to BDInfo).  I figured this movie had the best chance of playing without buffering.  However, I can't even get this movie to play.  Very strange?  I also tried a few movies with MPEG-4 and DD True HD and those buffered worse than the movies with DTS HD.

Also, how do you tell what version of Rasplex is running on the Pi?  I can't seem to find a setting in Rasplex that displays the version.  When I boot up Rasplex, I see the version briefly displayed on the monitor, but that is it.  Is there a way to get the version in the settings?

Just a datum, but I had a 'current' (1.30) build working with wifi but which wouldn't see my IR settings (done as the wiki).  I did a 'bleeding edge' update to 1.33 which seems to have lost me any knowledge of wifi - the IR remote does now work though!

Using the remote, I can go in & enable Wireless Networks, but there's no sign of the adapter being probed at any point despite the UI coming back & saying WiFi is active - no networks show up in the Connections tab either - if I reboot, the Wireless is back to inactive

To use RasPlex, you need a working PMS somewhere, and I don't think it's a good idea to install it on your RPi...

If you just want to put your RPi and your content together, try the original OpenElec distro, or Raspbmc.

Hi,

Running v0.1.34 on a 256 MB Pi connect by wired Ethernet

Since a few versions back I haven't been able to play any of my movie (don't matter if its MKV's or MP4's), I constantly get the error "Playback failed One or more items failed to play Check the log file for details". My client do not update all movie posters to. There are a lot of errors in the log file, but I can't make out any indication of the video playback error. For example I tried at 20:58.

As the Plex server I run v0.9.7.19 on Windows Server 2003. Please let me know if you want more input.

Otherwise the GUI works great.
