Re validate Plex app on new wifi

Server Version#: 1.18.3.2156
Player Version#: 7.25.2.14287

I travel for work with a 4k Fire TV Stick. Every time I connect it to a new wifi network, I have to log out and then get a new link (plex.tv/link). This happened 3 times this week at hotels. Is there a setting that I’m missing on the server side? Any ideas?

You shouldn’t need to sign out and back in. What happens if you don’t?

The exclamation point triangle shows up on all of the items. It says I can’t connect to the server.

That would mean that the app could not find your server at the last known IP address. It will recheck the IP address so it should work after 10-30 seconds. If not, there may be something going on preventing the check. I would need to see you logs from the Fire TV device to see what’s going on. If you haven’t used it much since the last time this happened, the info may still be there. If not, we’ll have to wait until the next time.

Do you have this problem when you come home and plug the device into a TV on your home network?

I can’t pull the logs. I think it has to to do with the hotel network, but I can’t connect to the log IP address. I keep the FTV stick in my bag, so I don’t use it at home. I will try it when I get home.

I just had to log out and relink again.

It works fine at home. I can send over the log. I enabled logging after the first two connection failures. It should have caught the third.

Please send me the log.

Hi there I’ve recently moved homes and my Plex server is not finding new WiFi and won’t connect to server in my firestick…can you help please?

Just sent via PM.
