Recent iOS Update (basically) broke the app

Server Version#: windows 10 lastest
Player Version#: iOS latest

About 1 week ago an iOS app update was pushed to the app. Since then the app is mostly unresponsive, takes 10-20 seconds to respond to any clicks and often crashes. Pretty much unsalable at this point.

I have the same issue as this. I have noticed that if I delete and reinstall the app it works happily for a few days before returning to the slow unusable state.

I have the same issue too, and reinstalling only fixed it for a couple of days for me.

Same issue here on iPhone 12 mini
IOS 15.2.1

It’s WAY less fun doing the dishes at night without Plex.

Has anyone solved this? My app on my iPhone is completely useless now. I have seen a suggestion to modify some settings in the app, but my app won’t even load the settings section.

The best I have seen so far is the suggestion to delete the iOS app and reinstall it. It fixes it for a couple days.

Last night I updated both my iPad and iPhone to 15.3.1. It broke Plex on both. I had had no issues whatsoever prior to this. Now I have the same behavior described by others: screen is totally unresponsive to any input.

Same issue on iPhone 11, 15.3.1 OS

Same problem. Deleted and reinstalled the iOS app, and the UI became responsive for a few uses, and has reverted back to the behavior described by the OP. Using latest PMS version 1.25.5.5492 for Qnap, and iOS 15.3.1 on iPhone13.

Same Problem iPhone 11 IOS 15.3.1 Have to delete and reinstall app once a week getting upset. Is anyone at PLEX looking into this problem?

Also experiencing the same problem on Plex 7.28 and 7.28.1 on iOS 15.3 and 15.3.1. Reinstalling works initially, but then the app becomes unusable again. Streaming with a web browser on the iPad works, although can’t set to full screen.

Same for me. iOS apps on iPhone 11 and iPad Pro are both freezing right away. APPLE TV is also not responding well at all. Plex in Browser works fine.

Same thing here. Have to keep force quitting the app. Also noticed “live tv” shows up in the hamburger menu like 40 times - might be related.

Please fix this issue! Go check the 1 star reviews left on your ios apps to confirm it. It’s basically useless for ipad now.

I am having the same issue.

I have been having the same issue so I came to the forum looking for an answer. I didn’t really find one but somebody had mentioned settings in the app. I am running Plex 7.28.1 for iOS on my iPhone 12. It was taking between 5 and 20 seconds to respond to any touch of the screen but it was at least not crashing. I went in to the settings and under Advanced there is an option to reset the cache. That fixed it for me. I expect that in a week or so I will need to do it again since that is basically what is probably fixing the issue for those that remove and reinstall the app.

Still works perfect on our iPhones and iPads - mix of generations.

No special settings. All but our old iPad retina on latest iOS.
