Ok so version 10.22 is a massive massive improvement. I played some files and some had 0 dropped frames and no issues at all which is great. But unfortunately for me the issue is still there with other files.
I’ve noticed files with AAC audio play fine no stutter. The nerd stats say the audio decoder is omx.google.aac.decoder.
Files with EAC3 stereo or 5.1 drop frames straight away and show decoder as passthrough.
Another test file has TrueHD the decoder as passthrough but had no drops at all. Certainly any files with issues are EAC3
In my settings I have passthrough enabled.
I hope this helps. Whomever has been working on this issue has made massive strides and I owe them several beers.
