Recent Update Deleted libraries

Server Version#: 1.40.2.8395
Player Version#: (mixed devices)

Hi Community,

Ever since the upgrade to the above revision, upon the media server restarting, it went through and deleted all my tv episode libraries, and now I am unable to bring them back in, when I scan the library which is just a shared drive to the QNAP, it only detects some of them not all of them, if I sit then and rescan it multiple time on the off occasion it might pickup a new folder.

However, I did notice if I go in there and add a new folder instead of the whole drive, of the one that is missing, it picks up the episode perfectly fine. But as soon as I remove it and then get it to rescan the whole drive again, it won’t pick it up and deletes it from the list.

I can see the folders are there in the library when I choose folders in the drop-down menu, but clicking into it yields no results.

I have had no problems with this for 2 years since I rebuilt the service and connected it to the QNAS, but now this update has gone and nuked it and now wont add in more than 50% of the files/folders.

Any advice as to how I can fix this? rolling back to another version caused it to go even worse so I had to push on to the latest version.

I don’t know why this always happens, why I have to lose everything whenever an update screws up, it causes me to have to rebuild the entire plex system from scratch and hope the meta data sticks.

Cheers,

David.

Well shortly after posting the above, I did another scan this time it wiped out 80% of what it found previously :frowning:

Now my “Continue to Watch” has gone and hitting the refresh meta data has gone and wiped out even more folders/shows.

I don’t know what this update has fried, but it has nuked it big time and it I just cannot see how to fix it.

Cheers,
David.

Well, a further update on this…

Sadly, whatever happened has also taken out the music directory and all the meta data, so now all the playlists that were created have gone fully corrupted and lost everything.

You spend months cleaning this stuff up, getting right and making sure everything is compliant and in proper order and structured folders, and it still craps the bed, leaving me to have to rebuild everything all over again.

Since there is little to no support on the application it may best now to look for alternatives, I thought buying a lifetime pass would encourage the company to look after its paying subscribers, but instead just continued issues, and simply no help.

Terribly saddened to see this!
