Recently added movies strange behaviour

Hi Guys,

I see that a few of my movies listet under recently added movies gets “stuck”.
What I found out was that the movie file had a attribute stating it was created years in the future…
Meaning that last modified date was 2097 or similar.
Now I did change the attributes, but I can’t see to get Plex to update that information.
Any ideas how to fix this?

No one?

Explain ‘stuck’.

Did you try moving the folder where the move was to another folder - then UPDATING LIBRARY and CLEANING - then putting it back and UPDATING LIBRARY again?

Hi @bearhntr

I haven’t tried to move them out of the configured Plex folders, but I can try.

Anytime I have a metadata change and get unexpected results I do the plex dance to clean it up. The Plex Dance ™. Folow all the steps in order - no shortcuts.

This is what I had to do as well. Sort of the steps that I was referencing to @PrimaryInc.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of your reply’s. Doing “The Plex Dance” worked.
I must say, it is a “bad” solution for the problem. But I guess someone in Plex Engineering need to look at their code and develop something to be able to refresh meta data a bit better.

Thanks Again!!

Any ideas?

I have been converting my .MKV files to HEVC (.M4V) files - which is greatly reducing the HDD space needed. Today I noticed when I added 3 movies which I re-encoded yesterday - they are double-listing in the LIBRARY. (see image). When you look at the INFO for each of them - one has the MEDIA INFO (encoding audio, etc), the other has NOTHING. But they show they are pointing at the same file.

This is from the one showing as ANNABELLE (1 Movie)

This is from the other one showing as ANNABELLE (2014)

I have done the PLEX DANCE - 2 times now. When I first tell it to SCAN LIBRARY - they only are there 1 time, but as the system is collecting metadata -it adds the second one.

Making me nuts (even more than this ‘Social Isolation’).

What you have there is TMDB/Plex showing it’s entire ass by creating single movie collections.

You have the movie - then you have a collection by the same name.
You can delete the collection by hovering over it’s ‘dots’ - lower left.

Do that, then do this:

I can add a few more arrows - if that’s not clear…

@JuiceWSA,

MY MAN!!! That did it. Rat-Bastards!!! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

There is no AVATAR COLLECTION. LOL YET

Hey, I like Collections as much as the next guy - but I like to abuse them on my own terms:
