I see that a few of my movies listet under recently added movies gets “stuck”.
What I found out was that the movie file had a attribute stating it was created years in the future…
Meaning that last modified date was 2097 or similar.
Now I did change the attributes, but I can’t see to get Plex to update that information.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Did you try moving the folder where the move was to another folder - then UPDATING LIBRARY and CLEANING - then putting it back and UPDATING LIBRARY again?
Anytime I have a metadata change and get unexpected results I do the plex dance to clean it up. The Plex Dance ™. Folow all the steps in order - no shortcuts.
Thanks for all of your reply’s. Doing “The Plex Dance” worked.
I must say, it is a “bad” solution for the problem. But I guess someone in Plex Engineering need to look at their code and develop something to be able to refresh meta data a bit better.
I have been converting my .MKV files to HEVC (.M4V) files - which is greatly reducing the HDD space needed. Today I noticed when I added 3 movies which I re-encoded yesterday - they are double-listing in the LIBRARY. (see image). When you look at the INFO for each of them - one has the MEDIA INFO (encoding audio, etc), the other has NOTHING. But they show they are pointing at the same file.
I have done the PLEX DANCE - 2 times now. When I first tell it to SCAN LIBRARY - they only are there 1 time, but as the system is collecting metadata -it adds the second one.
Making me nuts (even more than this ‘Social Isolation’).
