Recorded TV Playback Broken After Upgrading to 1.41.6.9685-d301f511a

After upgrading Plex server to 1.41.6.9685-d301f511a, no recorded TV will play from any client on any device. Nothing but a black screen.

The captured TS file itself plays just fine with any standard media player. All other media on the server (movies, videos, music, pictures) plays fine.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled. No change in behavior. Looking for assistance.

Thank you

Same. Live TV works but recordings don’t.

edit: I’m just running a chkdsk right now (Windows) but after I will provide logs.

Same issue. Ended up downgrading to the last version.

I have a similar problem after updating my iPhone. Only one of my video libraries appears on the new app. I logged out of Plex, powerd down the phone, rebooted the computer that hosts the media server but the problem remains.
A question : Is the new app supposed to be able to access all of our videos on the server? I certainly hope so. I was unpleasantly surprised to see that my music libraries are not.

Plex server 1.41.6.9685-d301f511a
latest Plex version for IOS 18.4

Downgrading didn’t work for me. I ended up having to turn off hardware acceleration and it started working. Not sure why? Windows update?

Thanks, DM123. I turned off hardware acceleration for the transcoder and playback picked right up.

Obviously, not ideal, but it’s doing what I need it to now.

Same problem here. I started a separate thread right below this one but I just verified Live TV works for me as well. Just recorded TV isn’t playing.

With hardware decoding enabled and hardware encoding disabled, it works playing recorded TV as well.

@chris_decker08 Have you had a chance to look into this?

This hadnt been brought to my attention yet. I cant reproduce myself so logs would be helpful.

Sorry @chris_decker08 I never got notification that you replied. I’m guessing no one else did either on this thread or I’m sure they all would have uploaded logs. It just hangs at 13% and never starts playing. Here are my logs:

This appears to be the same issue that I am experiencing. I posted and uploaded logs here: Hardware transcoding OTA DVR files fails...but live TV is fine - #2 by Atomatth

Thanks @DFury for the link and @kd6icz for the logs. These issues do seem to be related.

@Atomatth any progress on getting hardware transcoding back with recorded MPEG2TS files?

Server Version#: 1.41.7.9823
Player Version#: Roku 7.36 build 14, Plex Web 4.147.0
Since upgrading to 9823, hardware transcoding is failing on DVR’s OTA content (mpeg2/AC3). This occurs on both Roku and Web clients. It either hangs indefinitely at 33%…or it eventually falls back to software transcoding (successfully). Strangely enough, live OTA hardware transcoding works as expected.

Thanks for providing your logs. Looks like a lot of errors spawning when attempting playback from your DVR’d content. Could you share a sample file that is causing this issue? Can you also share your Intel Graphics driver version?

Thanks for looking into this @Atomatth … I have two Intel Graphics devices that are both showing the same behavior.

Arc a310 driver: 31.0.101.5522
UHD770 driver: 32.0.101.6078

I will PM you a sample file.

Which GPU do you have selected in your Transcoder settings under Hardware transcoding device?

I primarily use the Arc…but have tried both with the same results.
