I am not at a computer now but if you search forum for the error below:

Aug 25, 2018 12:21:22.261 [3328] ERROR - [Transcoder] av_interleaved_write_frame(): Unknown error

There are othe threads that mention the specific Microsoft Windows update I believe in July caused the issue. There were two later releases in July that addressed the error.

Version 1.13.6.5339

Windows 10 1803 17.134228 KB4242909 KB4100347 KB4338819

I am still getting errors. Windows 10 say’s I’m up to date on everything when I click on check for updates?

Hey Laffe I am having the same issue but mine seems to be every version software past the one that ends in 1.13.4.5271 i have tried both BETA and Public versions myself and none work on my Qnap Nas…so what I found out is to get it to record and YES I KNOW IT WILL SUCK but it works for me every time…the very first version you had issues with …GO 1 Version BEFORE THAT and REINSTALL that one and run it…I like you have had same issues with the 5333 ,5291,5339 , and one more I think I have deleted each NONE working Version…
My issue GOES all the way Back to the very first August Update and all the others since have NEVER WORKED!! I have written PLEX & Posted here >>>> " 0 Replies " all they do is shove out more updates…I tried a help ticket with 0 replies when I checked it the first 2 days now I cant find it on their system…kinda odd huh!! Anyway hopefully what I told you will work for you too even if you are going back in Software Versions BUT the whole reason of UPDATES is to FIX Issues NOT Give you new ones…lol. So if what I told you works for you too at-least you can use your Plex again!! GOOD LUCK LAFFER … Cow }:-o) :cow:

Howdy Andrew I told Laffe to Roll back to the Version of Software Before the First one that caused the issues…i have had the same issue as Laffe for 2 months and I can repeat it BOTH WAYS I can make it Not work and if I roll back or reinstall the OLD Software and it works fine just on software a FEW versions old! Hopefully it will work for you too. Good Luck Cow }:-o) :cow:

Thank You I’ll give it a try.

Using 1.13.4.5271 still fails.

You need to ensure the patch that fixed the update is installed on your computer. Below is a link to another thread I posted this same information on that a Plex Employee discovered:

Here is the information regarding the specific updates mentioned in the linked post above:

July 10, 2018 - KB4338819 (OS Build 17134.165) - which introduced the issue

July 16, 2018 - KB4345421 (OS Build 17134.167) - First fix

July 24, 2018 - KB4340917 (OS Build 17134.191) - Second update Microsoft released fixing issues

You may need to manually download the patches and run them. Please ensure you reboot after each patch to ensure the patch is fully installed.

I’m running OS Build 17.134228

I’ve tried installing those updates directly and it says they are not applicable.

I am not sure what else to tell you other than the July 16 update specifically as I understand addressed this issue. I don’t see any references to fixes in that release in the notes for the August 14 update that you now have installed. From what I recall just from reading some of the other posts related to this issue one user had to uninstall the July 24 update to apply the July 16 update. You might consider uninstalling the August update, reboot, apply the July 16 update, reboot, apply the July 24 update, reboot, and then reapply the August 14 update with one last reboot. Those three lines were specific to the issue caused by the July 10 update that was fixed in the other two July patches. If you choose to go this route it would be interesting after applying the 2 other July patches if you can record successfully.

I gave up, decided to just run a plex docker on my server for doing my recordings. MS is a PAIN.

i would love to know what they changed but you can never get a reply i have even tweeted them and at best i get try our forums for help … they only thing i found to even Half work is the ■■■■■■ roll back of 4 versions ago, I am gonna be all messed up when or if they do a Qfinder Pro Update … then i will be totally locked out and might as well just sell it all if plex does not want to help!!

wow you got som,e one to reply … show off but as i see still no help either , I feel for you. I am thinking of erasing it all and starting from new with all the drives reformatted and the NAS set to factory restore … i have tried everything but that… I SHOULD NOT HAVE TOO but at this point im over it all!!!

LAFFER98 and others whom have this issues I think I found out how to fix this I was looking around and came across this post, Link here: Can't manually update to 1.13.5 or 1.13.6 NOW BEFORE YOU RUN OFF …Let me say this…this is to a thread I read where they found the link I have NOT been there yet myself I wanted to post this asap Because Ive lost power 2x today and wanted to get it up before happens again so you can do like i will after I post go to the Links they say from Gbooker and Chuck , one of them found the Fix or work around…from what they Gathered its a QNAP issue NOT PLEX…I have sent tickets to them before but they claimed it was plex issue but they say NO its QNAP …I hope this is the FIX i cant wait to get off here and go back to read how to fix this…
.I hope this works for us all and if so thank them not me im just hoping its fix >>>> MAIN LINK BELOW!!
I copied from the post so you can see they found fix: Good Luck all!!

Hi,
I had the same issue and created a thread here: Unable to install latest server package on QNAP NAS (64 bit) - #30 by ChuckPa.

The long and short is that I logged a ticket with QNAP who basically told me they did not support updating this way. Plex employee Chuck was exceptional in helping me out with a way to do it via the command line.

I would suggest raising a ticket with QNAP as the more of us that do this might mean that they acknowledge the issue and do something about it.

Regards,
Gary.

Good Luck and Hope it works!!! Cow }:-o) :cow:

How can I help you?
