Most of my scheduled recordings didn’t save yesterday. I caught it last night and tried to schedule some of the re-runs but it was hit and miss. The Activity log showed the show as recording, it would finish but it wouldn’t be added to my Library. Also, when the recording would “finish” and not get added, the Recordings tab would update to remove the show item (instead of showing it in red). So somewhere the system is being told the recording is completing, but then it’s not being added and then it’s being removed from the window. (Screenshot attached)
I’m attaching my logs (I forgot that I had them turned on DEBUG so hopefully they help). An example show is SNL from last night. It was on at 8-10pm, activity said it was recording but the guide didn’t have the “record dot” on it so I selected the 11:30pm showing also. I guess after I selected that, the 8pm one saved 3 minutes, but the 11:30pm one never showed up. This morning, the 11:30pm showing wasn’t listed in the Recording screen (but it didn’t say it failed either).
Update… it looks like Plex is unable to tune NBC, but I verified the channel is being received in the HDHomeRun channel scan and the HDHomeRun app plays it. So I’m not sure why Plex isn’t able to tune to it.
That should only affect SNL from last night. Not sure why the other recordings from the Silicon Dust Premium TV channels aren’t recording though (CMT, Bar Rescue all have airings today but they’ve been removed from the Records “to do” list
So for SNL it seems that what happens is that it did record that EP (even if it was just 3 mins) so when we check which EPs we have to decide if we need to record or not we are just assuming the ep is already recorded (I am assuming here the episodes are the same please correct me if not).
I do believe we could probably have a smarter logic here, its diffidently handy to detect what we already have an skip, but if we have a older bad recording (like a super odd short filesize/duration) we could take the opportunity to “fix it” by recording again and of course it would also avoid situations like this where the users canceled it but didn’t really wanted to… obviously the reaction would be “well let me record it again”…

But the zip uploaded doesn’t contain this, I would need new logs that have entries in that date/time, to check if we logged anything at the time of the recording
