Hi - Not having any luck with the DVR feature in version 1.7.4.4017. Shows that have airings in the next 2 weeks in the EPG are not showing up in the recording schedule; Any Series recording doesn’t work and most single-episode shows don’t work either. I can only record shows airing now. I have re-scanned channels; reloaded EPG and rebooted.
Config:
HP 8300 PC as Plex Server; 4GB RAM; 240GB SSD C Drive; Synology DS414 NAS for storage (not transcoding)
Two HD HomeRun Primes (6 tuners)
Did you set the shows to new only? Try setting to new and repeat airings, I don’t think Plex is detecting new airings only very well.
I’ve tried both settings; same result; says there are no airings - but the guide shows multiple. Example: BBC America 7/1 has Doctor Who on all day - DVR will not show them as set to record if I choose Series or single episodes.
Can you post some screenshots of the recording schedule, settings for recording, and program guide for show showing future episodes. Might also help to see logs.
Some screenshots; In the recording priority and agenda views it is not showing any upcoming recordings - but in the EPG it shows many but it only shows one marked as recording - the single episode; even though I also selected Series and New/Repeat.
Can you include screenshots of the settings for Dr Who recording of the series? Also would be helpful to have Plex Logs?
Since the Advanced Settings is not displayed in your screenshot of the Doctor Who recording I am going to assume from the log entries below that you may have it set to HD Only.

I’m seeing the same thing and in Advanced Settings at the Series Recording Level, I have Resolution set to Any. This happens for every Series I have set to record. If I cancel the Series recording and select, say, the first episode, it correctly identifies that the specific episode is (in this case) due to air tomorrow at 7pm.

What setting do you have for the "Airings: in the series recording: “New Airings Only” or “New and Repeat Airings”?
If you select “New Airings Only” and the guide data does not have the show for tomorrow identified as “New” then the series will not record that airing. I personally use “New and Repeat Airings” for all of my shows. If I already have a particular episode in my library Plex does not record it again unless the episode being aired has a higher resolution than the one in my library.
I do have it set to HD only - because there are two channels for BBC America - an SD and HD; wanted to only get the HD version.
Are the 2 channels broadcasting the same shows? If so, why have both configured in your DVR? You can also specify the channel in the series recording options and leave the quality set to any. At least then you would get SD or HD airings on the BBC America HD channel.
OK - I see the issue; Comcast in the last few weeks moved and added a number of channels in the 1300-1800 range and has moved BBCAHD to a new channel - but the guide data doesn’t seem to be aware of the change; I have deleted the DVR; re-selected my area and all of the new channels are disabled by default; though they are working and I can tune them using HDHomeRun View. Guessing the guide data will be updated eventually?
Eventually it should. Perhaps a Plex Employee @keithah will chime in to see how long it takes changes in channels by cable company to be reflected in Plex.
