Regularly getting "Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 7" errors in console

Plex Media Server Logs_2021-06-13_09-09-21.zip (6.5 MB)

(How do I upload an image here? EDIT: Thanks!)

The request is constantly being made to the IP 10.0.0.5, which doesn’t exist on my network as far as I can tell.

The same way you attached the zip file.

Drag it into the message window or use the upload button. It will insert at the cursor location.

INFO:

  1. RFC-1918 addresses (e.g. All those on your LAN) – cannot be reached from the outside. There is nothing gained by obscuring them

  2. These particular messages can be safely ignored. The device responds to Plex’s broadcast for devices. It then refuses to allow Plex to communicate with it at the port number it responded with. All Plex is looking for are player devices

  3. This is unfortunately common behavior. Many devices are inappropriately noisy and respond to any “general call” indiscriminately

  1. Ahh, ok, I didn’t know if those hashes were private token stuff or not, thanks.
  2. Good to know it’s not indicative of an actual problem. Still, this leaves me curious: how often does PMS broadcast for devices to find? When I saw these errors, I went to my router to see what device was at 10.0.0.5, but there was nothing there.

Plex broadcasts for compatible players (the SSDP query) 1 time a minute.
It’s a 1-packet message

So then is it caching a list of IPs it discovers for a certain amount of time? Because 10.0.0.5 definitely wasn’t connected while it was pinging for it…

Yes.

It processes the list of replies one by one.
