[RELEASE] RasPlex 1.0.3

Do you have a recommendation on a USB adapter that works well for tethering?

I do not have a Pi3, and used wired on my Pi2 to simplify things. However the Edimax EW-7811Un is the standard go-to adapter for the Pi2.

Hi.

Got both RasPlex 1.0.3 and OpenELEC 6.0.3 working on Pi3. The Hifiberry DIGI+ is working now
with OpenELEC 6.0.3 with S/PDIF surround sound. Unfortunately, the same configuration does not
work with RasPlex. Any plans for a new Version based von OpenELEC 6.0.3?

Regards

Rasplex and HiFiBerry works for music audio tracks at the moment.

OpenELEC is not the issue with HiFiBerry for video audio, however, it’s working on all audio outputs in the next release.

@NedtheNerd

OK, understood, and… does “… next release…” has a time frame already?

BTW, you have to be an optimist to believe it’s only 90 percent.

Updated to 1.0.3 RPi2 and no posters/thumbnails appear for any media. Also doesn’t seem to remember video calibration settings and account after restart (not checked anything else).

Also the link to report bugs on the first post doesn’t work either.

Sounds like you have some corruption, suggest a reflash.

Report bugs here Issues · RasPlex/RasPlex · GitHub

Incidentally what you are experiencing is not a bug.

Fixed, thanks

Got a brand new PI3, flashed a new SD card with latest build 1.0.3. However, Pi3 is not booting. It shows a big square box in the middle with rainbow colors. Not sure if this is a power related issue or not. I was able to boot other systems like OpenElec, etc. So not sure what step I might be missing here. If you could give any suggestions, then that would be great.

You are using the wrong image, try the one for RPi2.

Ok thanks that was it. Works fine now.

Hi,
Updated to 1.0.3 in RPi2 and sametime ( not every time and dont know why) my rasplex can t Logon. I try to logon by user or code but not access and not find server, thai restart and work fine. Has Sameone similar problem?
Thx

When becomes Rasplex the new Hyperion Version?

Hello,
I wanted to report a minor issue. I use external srt file for my tv series. I name it like the episode filename without specific language specified at the end so it’s shown as unknow but it’s the expected behavior. The issue is when I launch the episode an select by default the subtitle or later, when I pause it’s says that no subtitle is selected but it’s wrong.
Here an screenshot to illustrate the case.

By the way, thanks for the hard work.

Hello RasPlex Team, seachring for SSH login here: https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/wiki/How-to-report-a-bug

result: “plexuser & rasplex” but correct is: “root” & rasplex"

hello fellas!! just curious about a new release? saw that github was updated yesterday. any plans?

We are at the final stage of testing the new release, unless any show-stopper issue is reported I expect a release later this week or early next week.

sounds terrific! thank you Kwiboo for sharing this info!

Ready to put Rasplex on my Pi 3 might aswell wait for the next release

I got a RPi3, tried RasPlex 1.0.3, but not able to see my wifi. Same position (place in the room), able to get nice connectivity from using Raspbian. Also, bluetooth won’t connect speakers ? Is there going to be any update on it anytime soon? Also wanted to ask, what can I do in the meantime to play videos or youtube on RPi3 till RasPlex starts working
