Remote Access Available - unavailable after 2 seconds

Hi!

I am currently experiencing an issue where when I enable Remote Access, it says that it is available after running the check, but then changes to unavailable after about 2 seconds. I’m running the server from a Mac Mini on Catalina. I have made sure that the server is running the latest update, and port forwarding is all set up with a static IP assigned on the router and Mac Mini.

I’ve tried accessing my library from a few devices off the network and all are saying that the server is offline. Everything was working perfectly for the last few weeks, and I have just noticed the issue today.

If anyone has any recommendations that would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Player Version#: Various - iOS App current public version, iOS App current Beta version, Apple TV App current public version.

Are you using Manual port forwarding? I see many stories using UPnP and or NAT-PMP having this issue.

Yes I’m using manual port forwarding. My router has troubles with UPnP so I forward everything manually.

Ok, try a different public Port 20,000 to 50,000 range.

Then check if that port is open

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried that with a few different ports with various results from the status indicator, but still was never able to access it off network. I’ve since tried putting the Mac Mini into the DMZ of my router and it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks heaps for your help!
