Asustor was helpful. I reintailzied with a spare drive and also took the NAS to another location, same issue at different house. Reintilaization fixed it so according to asustor support it was most likely docker ce app corrupting the network settings.
After days of reinitialization and moving data files, again the problem arose.
Everything I tried for the past week;
manual port forward
new gateway/router
Upnp on and off
Static and dhcp ip
Fresh reinstall
reinstalling NAS and data
DMZ
disabling windows firewall
check double NAT
signing in and out to reclaim server
trying different ports 20k-50k
downgrading version
I’ve ordered a synology NAS for a different setup and will test if the asustor is defective.
99.9% sure I’ve solved the issue now. Days ago I suspected it was some kind of firewall since it would temporarily work after retrying connection under remote access tab. Low and behold it was xFi advanced security blocking traffic thru ports. It wasn’t even turned on in xfinity app but there must have been a bug because it was clearly enabled and blocking plex on the NAS. I found an old modem that still worked in a closet and configured remote access via Upnp just like I had it previously. Port checker stays green and remote access is restored. Still not sure why reinitializing the NAS temporarily worked.

FINAL UPDATE. Turns out it was EZ Router setting that needed to be deactivated within asustor settings. Spent over two weeks calling isp, scouring the internet, even remote session with asustor support tech and whole time had to click one button to open WAN port. If someone with similar issue has an asustor NAS be sure to disable EZ router service after config it will save you alot of time.
