Remote Access connects for about 15 seconds then disconnects

Is your connection type on the server running plex set to guest network or private network? Solved my issue changing the connection type from guest to private

mines on private and always has been, as i statted not a single thing changed on my end.

Same deal with mine, has worked rock solid for a couple years. I do all the current updates, and first noticed a few weeks ago that remote connections were indirect. Tried troubleshooting and every solution/fix over the past couple weeks deep dive and still no dice.

What gives? So many people with this issue recently and no solutions in sight.

I’ve been having these issues as well, but only after the last updates. My configuration is as follows:

  • plex running inside docker
  • duckdns domain since I have a PPP connection
  • nginx that redirects to my server’s IP and 32400 port
  • there’s also a 32400 forward in my router (mainly because I had these issues)

I tried the suggestion to manually specify the port and it does seem to be more stable, however it still gets disconnected from time to time.
I’m happy to provide logs if necessary.

I have started experiencing the same problem as of yesterday.

I have had remote access for about 2 years with no issues and all of a sudden remote access fails. nothing has changed with my networ or devices. Please look into and fix as this must be an issue from plex.

Exactly the same issue as it seems many, many Plex users are facing with myCloud Home. Worked very well for a number of years and suddenly the remote access has stopped working. When you attempt to re-connect, shows green for a few seconds and then turns red again. This seems to be an issue with WD MyCloud Plex software update (in that it hasnt been) and is no longer fully compatible with an update in MyCloud Home devices (I am pretty sure). What is extremely frustrating is that neither Plex or WD seem to:-

  1. Acknowledge there is an issue
  2. Issue any notification of a known issue (from either organisation) apart from a lot of unhappy customers posts on forums
  3. Not a single response in either Plex forums or MyCloud forums to any customer query on the issue and exactly where the fault lies and whom is dealing with it (and more importantly…when)

To be honest, this is the final nail in the coffin for MyCloud Home and WD home products for me. Deeply, deeply dissapointing product, support and service from WD.

I have the same problem, remote access lasts a few seconds and in the “console” section I could notice that 2 errors appear:

  1. NAT: PMP, got an error: NATPMP_ERR_RECVFROM.
  2. Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 28

My router is from movistar probe activating and deactivating UPnP but it still does not improve.
Can someone help me please?

Same here ! :frowning:

I am now experiencing the same issue. It all started when I updated to PlexMediaServer-1.24.3.5033-757abe6b4-x86_64_DSM6. Nothing has changed with my Router and the original Port Forwarding Rule to Port 32400 is still valid to my Synology box housing my Plex server with a static IP address. I hit the retry button at the “Manually specify public port” it will connect successfully for a second or two, then it drops back to “Not available outside your network”. Please advise on how this issue can be resolved.

Just set up a new M1 MacMini with static IP, new latest version of Plex, Port Forward set and tested working from sites recommended on here - Remote access constantly dropping.
Turned on and off all the things in this article going back to early 2020 - still same issues.
What logs do you need me to send you so that i can access Plex outside of my home?

Even though the plex status website says operational, the remote connection is still unreachable.

same here

Have the exact same issue. Have been working before. Now all of the sudden it goes red after a few seconds. The ports is open in both Windows Defender Firewall and in my Router through UPnP.

Where too see status?

I have the same issue.

same problem for me, plex has been working fine for a year, now all of a sudden its just dropping remote access. nothing changed, no settings changed, no network changes. remote is up for about 15 seconds then goes red and drops out. static ip, well doesnt matter, nothing on network has changed. it seems the obvious answer is plex has done an automatic software update and its got bugs…
