Plex remote access had been working without any issues with Version 1.4.2.
After manually updating to Version 1.4.3.3433 Plex Server remote access no longer works.
When enables it establishes a connection for about 1 second then drops the connection.
Using a Telstra Gateway Max (Netgear C6300) Cable Modem.
Me too with a NetComm NF17ACV. Would like to roll back to the previous server version but Plex seem to be paranoid about leaving archival copies of earlier releases on their site. Or at least I can’t find them.
may be your isp or a local pop/backbone issue if you are both in the same region
im in North NJ (NY metro) on optimum (cablevision oakland)
running 1.4.3.3433 and havent lost remote access since your post first went up - i opened remote access page in another window while typing up my own sync related issues
significant issues with this on 1.4.3.3433 regardless of if I have the port manually open or rely on uPNP. Was solid until just recently. It’s not my connection or router as I’m on them all day connected from my office through a VPN.
UPDATE Blame on the internet gremlins , did nothing to my router or my settings in Plex Server and guess what?
Remote access is working once again.
As they say “tres étrange”.
I have been having problems listening to music on the road for months. 4 or 5 songs in a row would play then minutes go by before a few seconds of music, then more minutes or silence. Sometimes Plex would timeout “there was a problem playing your media”, hit play again and it streams again for a couple more songs, etc.
Finally decided to buy Plex Pass and sync music directly to my phone. Should make the next road trip easier on the ears.
After 48hrs of server uptime with complete remote access , things are bad again. Plex Server will not keep the connection open and drop the connection after about 30 seconds. No system, server or router restarts. Guys please fix this.
I had this issue when I did an update to Plex Media Server 1.4.3 and it was suggested to sign out and sign yourself back in from within Plex Web. I did that and it resolved the issue for most users that tried it, myself included.
UPDATE
Installed Version 1.5.1.3520 of PMS.
Signed in and out of Plex Web.
Restarted Server. Now remote access is up and stable. Fingers Crossed.
No port forwards or triggers on the router, Using NAT and UPnP.
