Remote access instability for devices & TV

Up until last week, I had no issues connecting in remotely on any device. I had not made any changes on the PMS pc. From my ipad, direct secure server access is now intermittent but generally PMS status remains Indirect and Remote Access indicates - Not Available Outside Your Network. I can disable & re-enable Remote Access but this only lasts for a few seconds.

I am able to access via mobile devices (iphone/ipad); however, frequently drops from Secure to Insecure connection.

  • PMS Network settings - Secure Connections set to Preferred
  • Server resides on Windows 10 pc. I’ve verified Windows firewall allows public & private traffic for all Plex services using default ports.
  • UPnP is enabled on Huawei home gateway (HG659). No port forwarding in place. I have disabled & re-enabled the UPnP with no impact.

My Samsung TV (outside network) will not connect to PMS at all. The TV issue seems to correspond to the recent update to version 5.1.0. Prior to this, it was connecting perfectly. Samsung TV UA65MU9000 with plex for samsung 5.1.0. It seems it may relate to Remote Access issue but not sure.

I’m at a loss where to go from here. Appreciate your help.

Setup a manual port forward. Upnp works but can be flakey.

I have exactly the same problem. I reckon they put out an update that screwed up tv’s

I enabled port forwarding correctly and created a static IP address. Every time I move off the remote access tab and click on a movie, remote access automatically disables. I click on retry and it enables again, as soon as I click on another subfolder, it disables again. A vicious cycle!!!
