Hello I have a yearly Plex subscription to have access to all mu movies/films and music stored on a MyCloudPR4100. However I cannot turn on the remote access. I have followed each step as explained in the FAQ - I have tried manually both IP addresses i.e. the one of my NAS and also the one of my router/modem - every time the remote access becomes green for 2 sec to turn on red immediately again, how can I solve this because as long as I cannot put on the remote access my mobile apps on my iPhone and iPad is not working as well. Thanks
Did you actually try to access it remotely?
Provide as much detail of your Plex setup. I have my Plex server running on a laptop accessing my WD MyCloud drive which I only use to store the media. You have to set the server and NAS drive to have static IP addresses and port forwarding is set to the machine running the server.
Hello it seems that what you are doing is what I need, I also stored all my movies/pictures and music on MyCloudPR4100. As said not really a technical person so I have put the IP address which can be found on the blue screen of my NAS into plex, it is thus connection for 1 sec to turn red again straight afterwards. Sorry but you lost me when you say ‘’ the server and NAS drive to have static IP addresses and port forwarding is set to the machine running the server.’’ what do I need to do exactly
The static IP and port forwarding are done in your router. What router do you have? Once you make the changes, you want to reboot your network.

Honestly no clue, I have a router (or modem if this is the same thing) of my Internet Provider called Telenet. The Modem itself is from Netgear furthermore don’t know how to make changes neither how to reboot :o( as said not technical person
Again, have you actually tried to access your server from outside your network or are you just going by the status screen?
