Remote Access keeps disconnecting

Well…this is how I tried to solve mine…and so far it has worked. I downloaded an app called Restart on Crash v1.4.0.222. In Theory, if Plex stops running, ROC will trigger the .exe to bring it back up again. I installed the app yesterday afternoon about 4pm, and so far 10:42am the next day, PLex is still on-line. I have not been able to tell if ROC restarted the program or not, because I set up the log file incorrectly. I just fixed that and will post if any change.

Plex’s server log file gets restarted every time the app restarts, so you can check that as well.

According to the ROC log, plex went down, and ROC brought it back up.

if you auto restart after a crash we will not have the dmp file to investigate

What is needed is the crash log (.dmp) and Plex Media Server.log for the time of the crash

thank you very much

Same problem here… plex keeps disconecting and i have to manually connect remote server… never happened this before in other versions…i have the same router configurations that i had before in other versions… obviously another bug in plex media server…

I am sorry but there is not a general issue that can be investigated. Each case has to be investigated and the cause for disconnection understood. What is happening at the moment is that there are issues with Premium Music Library gracenote interfaces leading to crashes of the Plex Media Server - that in itself would cause disconnection.

And with pms 0.9.12.5 has the same problem?

If you are referring to the gracenote related issue - users who downgraded to 0.9.12.4 also had the issue. It may be data problem from the gracenote service and their code does not handle

But there is avoidance action available - see this forum topic
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/176286/pms-keeps-crashing-at-least-once-a-day-on-windows-server-2012#latest

The issue applies to all platforms

the pms dont crash…only disconects the remot acess… its always disconeccting for no reason… and i have to manually connect again to be acessible outside my network… never happened this before in other pms versions… dont know whats happening… any solution?

No solution is possible without investigating and looking at debug logs covering from launch sequence and up to time of disconnections.

How soon does it happen ?

See Reporting Issues with Plex Media Server

Random… it can be logged in 3 or 4 hours or it can disconnect afer 15 minutes…

That should allow you to provide debug logs for whole period from launch and confirmation it is working and until disconnection.

See the reporting issues support page i linked
and note that
Plex Media Server.log is latest
Plex Media Server.log.1 is one before
Plex Media Server.log.5 is oldest

zip and attach with indication as to when it disconnected and how you found that out

how do i see that?

thank you very much

Plex Media Server.log

and you restarted the server?

yes… i restarted the server

Just one question… System.bundle and Framework.bundle they say its located here:%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins… but in my instalation in that folder only has this two:SiteConfigurations.bundle and WebManager.bundle… nothing more. But here:C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Plug-ins-4601e39… has all this bundles:Fanart-TV.bundle,HTbackdrops.bundle,LastFM.bundle,LocalMedia.bundle,Media-Flags.bundle,MoviePosterDB.bundle,OpenSubtitles.bundle,PersonalMedia.bundle,PlexMovie.bundle,PlexMusic.bundle,PlexThemeMusic.bundle,PlexVevo.bundle,Scanners.bundle,Services.bundle,TheMovieDB.bundle,TheTVDB.bundle,WebClient.bundle,Wikipedia.bundle,System.bundle,Framework.bundle… its that normal?
