update: Copied “~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/” and “~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist” from the working plex server on the laptop to the clean installed plex server on the Mac mini. All sections and progress got transferred. It worked.
If someone does this to fix there problem. The server name and permissions for external users may need to be set again. I needed to.
I can also report this behavior. CentOS 7 running PMS 1.15.4.919. This has just started with the last two PMS updates. This is a mature installation with no other issues. The one thing I have determined is that when I run the Remote Access test, it initially reports back success stating that the server is fully accessible outside the network. After about 5 seconds it changes to show it is not available outside the network. The port is open and I have verified remote reach-ability. This seems like a process that is broken within PMS. I would prefer to not have to delete the installation and then re-install, but it appears I can backup the following locations, then overwrite them to a clean installation. If this worked for spawn666, I would think this definitely identifies some type of corruption or break in a recent update.
“~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/” and “~/Library/Preferences/com.plexapp.plexmediaserver.plist”
