Remote Access Not available outside your network

Server Version#: 1.16.1.1291
Player Version#: 2.37.2.996

The Remote Access will work for a while and then it will not be available. I will have to disable Remote Access and re enable it to get it back. After a while it will not be available again and I will have to repeat the process. If I am not home I have to remote into my computer to disable and enable remote access. This problem started in April I think. Remote Access has been working for years before this problem started. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Do you have a manual port setup?

No. I do not.

I have the same issues. started in June. I have tried it both ways with a manual port specified and not. The remote connection will time out intermittently.

there are 2 ways to setup remote access.

UPNP which requires no user setup and is not stable
port forwarding which requires a user setup and is stable.

get a port forward setup and make sure its happy on canyouseeme.org and see from there.

I’m using port forwarding. It was working for years and it still works when Plex is accessible outside the network. The problem is when it is not available outside the network. Then I have to disable and re enable Remote access to get it to work.

Do you have a manual port forward?

I have the port forward set up in the router. It works fine when Remote Access is available.

Next time it’s broke check canyouseeme.org for success

When it is broke the port is not open on canyouseeme.org. As soon as I disable and re enable Remote Access the port is open on canyouseeme.org.

when it breaks you can still access 127.0.0.1:32400 or 192.168.1.x:32400 192.168.1.x being your inside IP?

Yes. I can still access it on the internal network. Its just the Remote Access that is broke.

do you have any other port forwards for other services like letsencrypt or sonarr or sabnzbd or anything or is this the only one?

I don’t have any other port forwards. Plex is the only one.

maybe setup miniweb

for testing and see if it stays connected when plex reports its offline…

Maybe its an issue with your router causing the port forward to hang.
Seems odd enabling and disabling in Plex fixes the issue though.

MiniWeb stays connected when Plex is offline.

Are you using the default 32400 port for Plex?
Maybe try a different port and see, maybe someone is ddosing your Plex port and switching to a non default will be happier?

Having trouble setting up Remote access on my windows 10 computer.
I have tried setting the “Manually specify public port” to 10000 (along with many other numbers). I get the same result no matter what number (10000, 32400, 80 etc) I type in the “manually specify public port” box. It gives me “Fully accessible outside your network” for about 4 seconds then reverts back to “Not available outside your network”.

Can anyone help please?

The same problem here, after the last update 1.16.2.1321 plex is unavaible for remote access. I tried specific port and with upnp, both in the remote access tab show “avaible and connected” but when I try to connect from another device outside the lan, it not works

I have the same problem when I try to set up a manual port. It says “Fully accessible outside your network” for about 4 seconds then goes back to “Not available outside your network”. So I cannot set up a manual port.
