No matter what I try I cannot get remote access working for my PMS. Things I’ve tried so far:
- Both UPnP and manual port forwarding; I know manual forwarding is configured correctly because I tested by forwarding to a different port used by a different application on the same server and that worked fine. I’ve also used a port scanner from the internet to verify that the manual port is open and it is.
- Double-NAT: I do not have a Double-NAT setup.
- Firewalls: I have the potential for a firewall on my router; I have tried both with a firewall rule permitting access to that port from any source, and also completely disabling the firewall, to no avail.
- External IP: I have compared the IP address listed on the PMS config screen with an online IP checker and they match.
- PMS is listening: I can access PMS flawlessly inside my network, both by going directly to the internal IP address and port, and also by going to app.plex.tv.
- Restarts, etc.: I have tried disabling external access, restarting the service, and re-enabling it; signing out of Plex and back in; etc.
FWIW I am running Plex on an Ubuntu server, and have an Asus RT-AC66U_B1 router running Merlin-WRT version 3.0.0.4.384_32799. Any ideas or support welcome, thank you!
