I have starlink connected to an R6080 Netgear router (with wifi turned off). I have an Orbi system connected to the Netgear, which is what I use for my wifi. My Synology server (which is used for plex) is connected to the Orbi system.
External access will jump back and forth between connected and not connected. However, if I turn relay off, I cannot connect to my server unless I am connected to my home wifi.
Ok. I tried something different. I’ve got my router in bridge mode connected to the Orbi. The Synology is connected to the Orbi via ethernet. I’ve setup the port forwarding as suggested. However, I still don’t see anything externally…here are my logsPlex Media Server Logs_2021-09-03_14-12-34.zip (7.9 MB)
I have discovered that my isp (starlink) using cgnat which is causing my double-nat issues. I’m reading quite a bit about ngrok being a potential solution, but I’m not sure how to make that run on my synology server…
son of a building block! same issue for me. was killing myself. turns out avast decided to add a firewall and enable when i wasn’t looking. while i disabled avast, it only disabled anti-virus, not the new firewall that i didn’t know about.
soon as i disabled that, lights came on and i could now connect.
hope this helps someone.
I wish it was that simple for me…I’m still stuck at my isp using cgnat, which is preventing me from external access due to double-nat that I can’t control…
