Remote access not working

I cannont get it to work.

ISP says ports aren’t locked and no double NAT.

Router is a RS700. I have done everything to get this to work. I even made a server on the PC and when that works it is in a relay connection.

Any help would be great!

Thank you ! I got it in the green but now when I use my phone app it says the server is offline?

What server version do you have installed and which specific phone app (and version)?
Does the remote access status indicator stay green or is it just temporarily showing a green icon?

First: I am far away from a network expert but some common problems could be:

  • You are behind a CGNAT. Does your modem show as a IP show something like 100.64.x.y to 100.127.x.y?
  • Do you have a Cable modem and router combo? In this case your cable modem should be in bridge mode.
  • How do you access your server? Via DDNS a reverse proxy or VPN?
  • Have you forwarded your ports correctly? Does https://canyouseeme.org/ show your port?
  • Have you (miss)configured a firewall on your server?

These are some of the things I would check. Keep in mind: sometimes the remote access checkbox could be red even if you can correctly access your server. :wink:

Not sure what you mean. I do not have a VPN

yes multiple times via a nighthawk RS700 my ip address on the NAS and 32400 for internal port and 32400 and tried multiple ports,

Not showing for on that

Firewall is off on the router and off on the NAS samething.

Yes I tired that at best I can get only a relay connection but doesn’t last long…

Any more suggestions would be awesome!

I was able to get remote access to work but it turns itself off at least once a day and I have to manually go back in and click on it to make it work again.

Do you have a static IP address (IP reservation) for your server?
This should be configured in your router – if there’s no reservation, your router will dynamically re-assign a different IP. This could interrupt the remote access until Plex catches up.

Is this in reference to https://canyouseeme.org ?

If it doesn’t show this, then your port forwarding is incorrect, or your isp is blocking it.

Not sure if this is the same problem, but my Remote Access broke after the last major Server Update. I have been searching online for fixes, but no one seems to be talking about the same issue.

Everything in the server settings is green and good to go, but since the last major update, my phone and tablet apps will not connect remotely anymore. I am open to ideas or if someone knows of another thread that covers this issue. TIA

I was having the same issue. It turned out I needed to make a IPv6 Firewall Rule on my Eero router. That fixed the issue.
