Did you check the manually specify public port option? For some reason I need to check it, despite being 32400 the default port. Did you see the green ‘fully accessible outside your network’ message? Maybe you need to run nmap to be sure your port is open.

If this is the correct manual: https://dlink.com.br/sites/default/files/product_download/DIR-610N_A1_Manual_v1.00_DI.pdf

On page 28, you create a “Virtual Server”

  1. Check the box on the left
  2. Type in “Plex” as the name
  3. IP Address: LAN address of your Plex server
  4. Public Port: 32400
  5. Private Port: 32400

Save

Go to Settings - Server - General. Make certain your Plex server is signed into your Plex account.

Go to Settings - Server - Remote Access. Select “Manually specify public port” and enter 32400. Apply

If you ever wish to change Plex’s public port, You change the Public port in the Virtual server definition and in Settings - Server - Remote Acccess

@orionerd

I got your PM… what do you wish to do?

Do you want to Enable PMS remote access or Disable PMS remote access?

I have a similar issue with my Plex server, but it has only been since I updated to version 1.0.3.2461 this past weekend. Prior to that it worked great. I have restarted both server and PC, and have signed-out and signed back in. All to no avail. No configuration has been changed on my router or adapter settings, so I can only assume the update somehow disabled this feature.

The update would not have disabled so something for you changed but it’s easy to find out and fix.

Would you please do the following?

  1. Stop Plex
  2. delete all the Plex Media Server log file (including the roll over files)
  3. start Plex
  4. attempt to log in (so the failures go in the log)
  5. Stop plex
  6. Collect the logs (tar / zip is fine)
  7. attach here with your next post.

Do you have the same Dlink modem as the OP?

I am experiencing the same issue since updating. My Plex server says “Not available outside your network”. Using the open port check tool, I am able to confirm that my port forwarding still works. I can also browse to http://:port/web and access Plex. None of my remote Plex apps will work, however. I have tried logging the server out and back in, as well as disabling and re-enabling remote access, but the issue persists. Any insight into this issue to get it resolved would be appreciated. This is very frustrating!

May I ask everyone who has the situation PMS is accessible but claims it isn’t or “claims to be accessible but is not” to please reply / attach themselves to the thread below? I ask this of all because I’ve written it up. Being able to count how many folks have the issue helps give weight to its importance.
