Remote access says not available but still is

Server Version#: 1.25.5.5492
Player Version#:not important

I have everything set in router etc. I set it to remote access on. It says its working. a few second to 5 minutes later without touching the server it says Not available outside your network. But i can go to my phone, with wifi off of course, and it IS AVAILABLE still.

I have 3 logs. the first one is the current state when it says it’s off.
Then i turn on access by RETRY manual port, then take the 2nd log file.
then i waited about 4 minutes and when it says Not available outside your network again, i took the 3rd log.
maybe you can figure out why this is happening.

thanks tony lochner

Plex DocumentationAccessing a Server through Relay

Plex Relay.

The stream is tunneled through a system at Plex. It is limited to 2 Mbps (1 Mbps w/o a Plex Pass).

These documents can help get remote access working:

The Basics of Remote Access Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Remote Access

If using manual port forwarding, post a screenshot of the forwarding statement in your router. Do not mask the IP address of your Plex server (192.168.x.x) or the port numbers.

I turned relay off now. That could why it was partially working.
Now it says connected but it really isn’t connected. And then says not connected.
These are my settings. What am I doing wrong???

The port forward is configured correctly.

Try leaving the port at the default, 32400.

You can change it later. Also, low port numbers are more often in conflict with other services. It you want to change it, go higher.

hi, After many more hours I finally got it working. I think.
I found a free tool for port checking that is very reliable.
Port Forward Network Utilities
It said the TCP port was always closed. I was using 2350 external,
and took your advice and used higher.
But in addition to that , I had to get McAfee firewall port settings to open PLEX, TCP=port higher, and then the port checker finally said it was open. then I had to disable remote access
and then finally enable it with my specific port. Using higher was a good idea.
Thanks for you help.
Sincerely Tony
