today plex was having issues with buffering (in home same network), my internet speed is more than sufficient to handle loading a 1080 video, so i thought it was odd. kept going, it eventually started working fine. not to long after than a family member that lives a town over from me asked me if my server was off, confused because i was using it, i said no. checked settings on plex web and it says remote access is working (green check mark, and a green padlock next to my server name). then i noticed that there was an update available, so i thought, maybe that will help me out. long story short, it didnt help me out.
i then went into the troubleshooting info page for remote access help. my router supports uPnP, so for over a year now, i used plex with no issue. but in hopes of a repair i tried the steps within that page. set up proper port forward of default ports, restarted plex, and same issue. i then tried manually entering ports between 20000-50000, restarted plex, and still, no joy.
is this an issue brought on from the previously beta version of plex becoming the new standard, the latest server update, or am i doing something wrong? does anybody have a fix?
i know im not alone on this, i’ve seen another thread with many replies claming to have the same issue all starting within the last 24-48hrs or so
