I have been having a lot of problems port forwarding on my Fibre /modem (Nokia G-240-E). The rules are all set up but ports are closed when i check the public IP side.
Anyway while i resolve that somehow, I set up Synology VPNPlus to my synology rt2600 router and I can get a virtual IP on my home LAN no problem.
If I use Plex through a web browser I can get full direct play of files without transcoding. Yet as soon as I use the Plex app on the same device the files start to transcode and quality goes down.
As I cant get remote access to work at the moment and stream to my Apple TV (without transcoding) I am using my iPad as a stop gap connected to my TV, but it does not do anamorphic screen when playing through browser. So I want to use the Plex app but it transcodes.
any suggestions on how to stop the app transcoding (settings are set for maximum streaming)?
