Remote access stopped working with port forwarding

The remote access stopped working when I turned off the relay setting. I turned it back on but the remote access did not return. I have tried redoing the port forwarding settings. I set up a static IP on the server computer. Remote access will not return. I’m not sure that I have port forwarding set up correctly because I replaced the router since I originally set it up, although that was months ago and no issue occurred at that time. My router/modem is Netgear Nighthawk AX8 AX6000.

I am not a plex guru or particularly computer savvy. I read through the previous forums with this issue and I didn’t really understand a lot of the instructions. Any help is appreciated.

What jumps to my eye are two things:

  1. your port forward specifies the external port as 17427, while you told Plex the public port is 32400 (manual port)
  2. The IP bands used by the router and that identified by Plex as the server’s internal IP don’t match (192.168.1.85 vs. 10.5.0.2)

Do you have another active network component (e.g. a WLAN access point) that could establish its own subnet inside the router’s network?

I changed the port forward to 32400 and that seems to have done the trick.

I don’t know what a WLAN access point is, so I probably don’t have one. The server computer is on ethernet. Neither of those two IPs match what I set as the internal IP for the server, which was set up in the windows settings, not the router settings, because I got an error that there was IP overlap when I tried it. Since it seems to be working I won’t mess with it until it breaks again.
