mind sharing some more details on your setup/configuration for remote access?
I use Port mapping due to my old router , It used to work and i loved it now its not working at all i have even changed my Internal Host
yeah i did
One last thing funny enough as soon as i cancelled my plex pass it stoped working
if you can help me please do
Thanks
This cannot work.
You are forwarding the port to the internal IP address 192.168.1.1
But your Plex sever has the IP address 192.168.1.14, so those packets never reach the right machine.
Side note: you only need to forward the tcp protocol, not both tcp and udp.
Question why was it working on 192.168.1.1 for over 1 month and now it changed ?
and yes sir it works now
Perhaps your Plex server machine got a different IP address, which made the port forwarding point to the wrong machine?
When using a manual port forwarding, you should set the IP address of your Plex server machine to a fixed value and not rely on your router’s DHCP mechanism.
I have no idea how to do that but thanks for the help i understand where i went wrong
What kind of machine are you using as plex server?
Currently a Mac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) until i can afford a MY CLOUD PRO SERIES NAS
Try to find a setting in your router which lets you assign a fixed IP to your Mac.
It should be labeled similarly to ‘Reserved IP’ or ‘DHCP address reservation’ or something like this.
i tried before no luck
Static Routing?
The second best option would be to set the IP address in the MacOS preferences.
But I can’t tell you how, because I haven’t touched a Mac in 20 years.
