Remote Access Troubleshooting Arris NVG589

I’m a networking novice trying to set up remote access for my plex media server. I keep getting the ‘Not available outside your network’ message and have tried checking the manually specify public port box.

The remote access trouble shooting page suggested making a static IP for my server and port forwarding but I’m not sure if I did this correctly since I still do not have remote access.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m using an Arris NVG589.

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#:
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Doing so is not a guaranteed path to success.
The truth is that most new internet access contracts put their customers behind Carrier-Grade NAT
And if that happens, you are in trouble.

Is AT&T your ISP?

Here’s a guide on setting up port forwarding: Set up Port Forwarding for NVG589 - AT&T Internet Customer Support

I’ve the BGW-320, and the screenshots seem similar. Here’s how to set up port forwarding on a BGW-320: Changed ISP - No Remote Access with AT&T BGW 320-500 - #3 by FordGuy61

I don’t believe my ISP is using CGNAT. I did a traceroute and didn’t see RFC1918 or RFC6598.

Thank you for your help.

I was able to follow the second link but still no remote access.
