I have a ZTE MC888 5G Router from Three mobile - enabling access to my server, which works via a DSL connection - but will not set up Remote connection. I have tried both enabling PnP and disabling then manually setting up a port forward. neither of these work.
Any thoughts? Recent logs taken from server attached.
Looks like the public IP of the router connected to the PMS isn’t the same as the one Plex identified from the WAN. Could be there’s multiple active network components in the game or maybe your ISP has put you in a CGNAT setup (which is likely considering you’re using a mobile connection).
Looking into this (CGNAT on Three Mobile) - Three state they do not use CGNAT, then looking into their discussion forums, they say to make sure the APN is set as “3internet”. When checking on the modem, the default profile does say this is correct. To make sure this is correct, I created a new APN profile (identical to their “Default” one). After doing this, the WAN IP is now correct, both on the WAN of the router, and what is showing within Plex. (It was a 192.0.0.x address before, but now a 188.30.x.x - which is identical to that shown in PMS).
Remote Access is now showing as “accessible” - however, when I (initially) tested this from another device, I could still see that the stream was showing as “indirect”, when looking at the PMS Dashboard. A good old turn it off and on again of the destination device App then fixed the issue! Huzzah!!
