I have followed all the troubleshooting availble but still no way of remote viewing quality over 720p, outside of my Home Wifi
What information do you see on the now-playing dashboard when you experience this?
From what you describe there’s 3 common issues:
- client settings for remote streaming video quality are causing the video to be played in that particular quality (e.g. “2 Mbps, 720p”)
- bad remote access configuration causing an indirect/relayed connection – which is limited to 1 Mbps (2 Mbps for Plex Pass members)
- limited internet upload bandwidth (most providers still offer lower upload bandwidth which can impact your capability to stream at higher quality/bitrates)
The screenshot you just added leaves open if this is because you set it to the 720p HD, 2 Mbps option or if Plex is only offering that option due to the limited available bandwidth.
Hello tom80H, thanks for your reply.
Im very new to all this stuff so forgive my ignorance
When I try and select a high quality for playback it wont let me select the original quality i.e. 40mb/4k.
I have 45 mb upload
