Hey,
I’m looking for any help or guidance to figure out why remote access is not longer available to me. I’ve had remote access working previously but after having to move to new hardware and switching OS’s (windows → ubuntu) I just can’t figure out why Remote Access will not stay connected.
Currently, Remote Access will go green and say it’s fully accessible outside of my network but will switch to “Not available” within a few seconds. I’m using the ATT Pace 5268ac modem/router from ATT and port forwarding is configured from what I can see, pics uploaded.
Checked if I’m behind a CGNAT from my ISP and it does not look like i am (i could be wrong and I’m willing to do any additional check in mind)
No VPN installed on the plex server.
‘ufw status’ shows “inactive”
iptables were not in use but I added an opening for 32400 just incase.
"ACCEPT tcp anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:32400
I tried Canyouseeme.org and it says 'cannot see my service on my and 32400 so I’m assuming the issue could first be with the modem/router actually opening my ip:port up.
The remote access status indicator switching from green to red after a few seconds means your remote access setup doesn’t work to begin with. Plex is optimistic in showing the green status while it’s testing your remote access… in your case, it switches to red, as soon as that test is done.
Do you have a port forward configured on your router?
Based on your screenshots, you’re allowing traffic through the router’s firewall – though that doesn’t mean there’s an actual forward.
