Asus Maximus Vi motherboard that previously ran a Plex server fine.
New Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router
I upgraded my PC and then moved my old setup to a dedicated server which is running Windows 10 and seems to be working great. It’s setup with a dedicate IP of 192.168.1.50.
When I launch Plex I noticed I’m not getting the Remote Access icon to go green. It actually does for a moment and then goes red. Outside users can reach the server but in “indirect” mode.
I’ve tried with UPnP on, off, Windows Firewall off, 32400 port opened on .50 (canyouseeme.org reports: Success: I can see your service on 73.248.xxx.xxx on port (32400)). I’ve tried manually forwarding the port, not manually forwarding the port.
Next up is wiping the Netgear with DD-WRT firmware (which is likely anyway to get Wake on LAN scripting support).
Any experts out there on resolving these issues? This is driving me nuts at this point.

Stick to having a port forward of 32400 to 32400 for 192.168.1.50
and manually specify port ticked in server setting and make sure you have 32400 entered in the box as the manually specified port
check that your network connection in windows shows as Private Network and not inadvertently switched to being unidentified network or public network
In addition to the 3 firewall rules for the exe files, add an inbound port rule to the firewall in windows
Inbound Port Rule
Protocol: TCP
Local Port: 32400
Remote Port: Any
Remote IP: Any
Programs: Any
Scope: All profiles
Action: Allow
