I’ve been testing Remote Access out over 4G from my iPhone via the Plex App. I’m getting approx. 30mbps down over 4G on my iPhone which most of the time exceeds the 17mbps upload I have on my home internet connection. (I have all of the relevant bandwidth limits set accordingly in the media server settings too).
In the Plex Server settings, remote access is enabled and states that it is fully accessible from the outside. I can access my media library on the iOS Plex App via 4G, it loads the posters and TV series theme tune background music perfectly fine. I can play some SD videos and some 1080p videos with Transcoding, however the video hangs after a few seconds of playback, but the audio continues and Plex Server states that the video is still playing on the dashboard. I cannot under any circumstances play 4K transcoded video as it buffers for a while with the GPU transcoding it, then fails (a message pops up saying its failed), or, after you press play, the app will just act like the episode/ film has finished and will go the post-credits screen suggesting the next episode etc.
Any ideas what’s going on here? I have Auto Quality enabled, GPU transcoding enabled, but not HDR Transcoding as I’m on Windows with an Intel GPU and only intend on viewing with an HDR display.
I have no issues playing or transcoding over the local network.
Logs attached.
