I’m a newbie with Linux, Thunderbolt, etc.

It’s my first time making a NAS and I want to have a Plex Server so I can save some movies that I have that I don’t want to delete from my main PC and be able to watch them from wherever I want, but my server has problems outside the local network, the remote access says that it’s not possible to access outside my network, and the movies load at very low resolution from the Plex website, they only load well through “my local IP: gateway/web”.

1. Did you make sure that your Router is port forwarding the port from outside network to plex?
2. Did you make sure your System is connected directly to the router closest to the modem (so that you are not in a double NAT’d setup)?
