I’m hoping someone will be able to assist me, and apologies that this issue has likely been covered before.
My remote connection has been working fine for the last 6 months or so.
Something happened in the last fortnight which meant it was no longer working.
I think the ip of my device with plex media server (nvidia shield) changed and the port forwarding no longer worked as it was set to direct to x.x.20.5 and now my nvidia shield was x.x.20.6
I have since set a static ip and changed the port forwarding to x.x.20.6 in my router. It does indicate a double-nat situation but I am unable to access the fibre router to do port forwarding for that device, though I have never accessed it before so I had not done this previously and yet remote connections had worked when pnly changing the isp router.
Now the plex server occasionally says remote connection is possible but then reverts to saying it isn’t. At the same time, I have been able to use plex on my phone with wifi off (so not using the same network) to open a file but it only plays audio and I basically get a black screen with some green pixels. Likewise someone I have able to access it got buffering to 99% and then just a black screen. In both of these cases, the dashboard showed the user with a yellow exclamation mark but that is as far as I can get.
I don’t have any limits on uploads or such settings either and so can’t determine what the issue is
